boring, rigged and totally rng based
it was a neat and simple game when i bought it, still is, i reccommend
Hamster All-Stars is a fun toy where you make race-tracks and race hamsters. You can also gamble (and rig the outcomes).
This is so great.
I really like it! Sokpop in general is quite good at making small games with unusual ideas and this one is one of the better ones. i didn't get too much playtime out of it but the 40 minutes i spent with it were a lot of fun both for me and my bf who was watching. it's quite relaxing to watch the hamsters run around and try to guess who would win.
surprisingly fun to see hamsters run like 3D Lemmings, mindlessly competing for the first place on a track you made yourself
Hamster go burr
Hamster All-Stars, developed and published by Sokpop Collective, is a playful physics sandbox that turns the simple concept of hamster racing into a chaotic and creative toybox experience. True to Sokpop’s experimental design philosophy, the game does not aim to be a deeply competitive sports simulator or a complex management title. Instead, it thrives on emergent humor, light strategy, and the joy of watching unpredictable outcomes unfold. It feels less like a traditional game with rigid goals and more like a digital contraption set where adorable rodents become the stars of your improvised obstacle courses. The centerpiece of Hamster All-Stars is its track-building system. Players are given a collection of modular components—ramps, tubes, bumpers, funnels, springs, and other whimsical objects—that can be freely placed within the course area. The interface is intuitive and accessible, making it easy to rotate and position pieces without frustration. While the selection of available parts is modest compared to larger construction sandboxes, the pieces are versatile enough to encourage experimentation. Simple layouts can produce clean races, while more elaborate builds can result in sprawling contraptions that send hamsters bouncing, tumbling, and ricocheting in unexpected directions. Once a course is complete, the racing begins. Hamsters are divided into teams and released simultaneously, scurrying toward the finish line. Their movement is governed by a physics system that prioritizes unpredictability and humor over precision. Collisions, misaligned ramps, and crowded choke points often create hilarious moments where a leading hamster is suddenly launched off track or an entire team becomes trapped in a funnel bottleneck. The races are less about refined skill and more about watching a cascade of tiny accidents turn into delightful spectacle. This unpredictability is the game’s defining trait, transforming each race into a miniature physics experiment. Adding a light competitive layer is the betting mechanic. Before each race, players can wager in-game credits on which team they believe will win. Successful bets earn additional credits, which unlock new track pieces and cosmetic decorations. While the betting system does not introduce deep strategic calculation, it provides motivation to refine course design and observe patterns in hamster behavior. The loop of building, betting, and unlocking encourages repeated sessions, especially for players who enjoy tweaking their designs to influence race outcomes. Visually, Hamster All-Stars adopts a bright and minimalist aesthetic that supports its toy-like atmosphere. The environments are uncluttered, ensuring that the focus remains on the racing action and the mechanical components of each course. The hamsters themselves are animated with exaggerated cuteness, making their flailing limbs and accidental launches all the more amusing. Sound design complements the visual charm with lighthearted effects and subtle music that reinforces the playful tone without overwhelming the experience. The game’s structure is inherently sandbox-driven, which means its longevity depends largely on player creativity. There is no extensive campaign mode, no structured series of escalating challenges, and no deep progression tree. Instead, players are encouraged to invent their own fun, building increasingly elaborate tracks or experimenting with unconventional layouts. For some, this open-endedness is liberating, allowing for endless tinkering. For others, the lack of structured objectives may limit replay value once all unlockables are obtained. Nevertheless, within its compact scope, the game consistently delivers moments of spontaneous laughter. Hamster All-Stars ultimately succeeds by embracing simplicity and unpredictability. It captures the same fascination as watching a marble run or a homemade Rube Goldberg machine, where the entertainment lies in observing kinetic chaos unfold. While it may not satisfy players seeking competitive depth or long-term mastery systems, it excels as a whimsical sandbox that invites creativity and rewards experimentation. As part of Sokpop Collective’s experimental catalog, it stands out as a charming and joyful project that turns a small idea—hamsters racing through obstacle courses—into a memorable and delightfully chaotic experience. Rating: 6/10
Its a fun little betting game where you bet on a race based on the track you built. You get over it quickly since there arent many unlockables and you got the ability to intervene with the race what allows you to almost bet perfectly always. You can 100% it in like half an hour tops.
Might very well be the best game of all time
