About
Hammerting is a vertical dwarven mining colony sim with RPG elements.
Manage a clan of colourful Dwarves, establish an epic mining operation, craft legendary swords and delve deep for greater glory, riches... and danger.
With conflict raging on the surface, the Dwarves pledge to delve deep and as master craftspeople, will produce and supply what is needed to support their allies. From humble beginnings, you start with a handful of Dwarves who need to set up their operations quickly. However, as you progress, your small clan will expand and become known throughout the Overworld for their skill and premium craftsmanship.
Allies on the surface will have all manner of requests. Dwarves may find themselves asked to craft a plethora of silver swords against an oncoming army.
With the Overworld in need, every successful delivery takes you one step closer to triumph. As your Dwarves grow in skill and your base expands, build conveyor belts and elevators to free them of manual labour.
Does Åglöf’s fancy ancestry clash with Vargskreva’s humble upbringing? Is your explorer afraid of the dark? Has your master crafter reached their Ballmer Peak? Aim for success and exploit the strengths of your Dwarves, as well as their weaknesses. Each Dwarf is richly and uniquely defined through its stats, Dwarven ancestry, traits, abilities, equipment, move-set and much more, as they are shaped by events occurring in their lives.

Anyone can craft an Iron Sword, but only Dwarves can dig down into the depths and cart up boatloads of diamonds and bones and use it to craft the... Iron Sword +2.
With every strike of the hammer on an anvil, a skilled Dwarf has a better chance of achieving a critical result, giving you better and improved gear.

It is as they say – “Fortune favours the bold”, and only in the deepest depths will you find the most powerful materials, the warmest magma, the rarest treasures, but also the most dangerous conditions.
Figuring out the fastest and safest route down - and up again - is a chief concern, but you’ll have plenty of unique Dwarven mechanisms to help you to do so.
Hammerting features liquid and physics mechanics for pumping sizzling lava to your hearths, brewing hoppy beer, tossing burning torches down shafts to light up the unknown and more!
A Dwarven king once said: “A single axe is easily blunt, but an army of axes is unbreakable!”. You might want to explore and populate the depths of Mara on your own, but you can also partner up with jolly comrades and run a dwarven colony together. It’s all about synchronization, companionship and common goals!

Super Spiel, ich liebe es Schade da daran nicht weiter gearbeitet wir oder ein Nachfolger kommt :(
Lots of fun but had to redo boards over and over as some mechanics are not intutative.
For an "abandoned" game it is great if you like digging, dwarfs and colony sims. Also what the developers call "QoL update" feels more like propper development and is likely a way to sneak proper updates past the publisher. Just dont buy it at full price it still is and will always be a bit rough around the edges.
Super fun! GO forth, my dorfs. Really addicting and fun to build your underworld kingdom, but you will definitely have to look up tips on job management to get our dwarves to actually build the damn elevators. The diagonal railing is annoying to line up. It's very easy to become disoriented once you expand very far so I wish there was a way to mark where certain landmarks are or something. Oh, I also wish you could disable auto-locking the screen onto the monster hordes when they appear.. Still tons of fun! I'm also shocked my laptop is still running this game just fine after I built so so many buildings and housed so many dwarfs.
Great example for loss of potential. Team 17 used to be a bold name back in Amiga times. This was one of the reasons, why I got this game in early access. Like someone mentioned before, developers attention seemed be suffitient enough to go for it. Unafortunately development of the game ended up shortly after full release. As conclusion, we have a lot of "unfinished" mechanics, like smell. Also heritage of dwars (advertised at some point as a feature) doesn't seem to have any significant impact on how you planning your colony and there is more to explore when you get deeper into the game. Game overall seem to be polished at first glance but having such potential it's just abandonend project now. Not finished, despite advertised as completed. Sad.
Hammerting is a dwarf base building simulator. Pros: -Autogenerated maps for replayability. -It's fun to dig and explore. -Good automation tools. Cons: -One of those games that just throws pages of tutorial at the start and you just end up figuring it out as you go. Luckily the quests more or less keep you on track. -Alot of the features like skill trees, dwarf relationships, and etc... don't really end up mattering in the grand scheme of things. Ultimately just a resource generation game. -The overworld/win conditions are not intuitive. A win condition is to control all locations, but you can't attack anyone. So its literally just to make allies with everyone, and its not in game explained how to do that (complete all quests). -The unlock science tree is kinda all over the place. Easy to unlock things out of order. -I got screwed by the map generation, where the fire zone was on the farthest edge of my map, I found like 3 of every other zone first. And thats the zone i needed to complete the game. -Dwarfs kept glitching and getting stuck on nothing. Overall, its a base building simulation game that kept me engaged, but the game progression is just not optimally streamlined which leads to lots of wasted time. It's decent for a playthrough, but there's better options out there. Rating: 5/10
