Halloween Mysteries

Overall a simple and fun game, especially nice when you don't have tons of time to play something. I love the Halloween theme too.

I rarely write a negative reviews, but this game is poorly made, music repeats on loop and get's annoying after some time. Voice actors did bad job, sounds like they are tortured :D. I found two bugs that ruins the fun - achievement progress is not saved, so for example if I have opened a few of those large chests, go over checkpoint and quit game, and launch it, I have to collect them all over again (but the chests that I had collected in the level are still opened, so I have to search for a new chests.) Or the same with those beetles, but they are annoying on they own, because when I open a chest they jump out of it and starts running, an sometimes they run into water or in places which are not accessible to me. and the second bug, was after the first boss, i can't leave the boss area, the old wizard says "there is no time, let's move on..."(or something like that) But i can't go anywhere, because the gates are closed from the other side, and i can't go back, because there is that green mist that blocks my way. When i'm in tight place, like between houses, camera jumps between different zoom levels, which is annoying.

Great themed game. Not so great mechanics-wise. Still a fun enough adventure, worth atleast sale price.

Halloween Mysteries Steam Review- 4-21-25 ------------------------------------------------- This game is atrocious. I'd ask for my money back, but I'm afraid the dev would have to take my dollar out of it's frame on the wall to give it back. -- The camera is wildly disconnected from your character, and zooms in and out enough times in a few seconds to make you seasick on land. -- The writing is terrible. The pronunciation is terrible. The "music" is just pops and clicks. The sound effects are just more pops and clicks (yeah, my sound is working just fine, it's the game that sucks). -- Playing on mouse and keyboard, and I let the game know that, but I still get "bumper" and "trigger" control prompts. NOTHING is re-mappable. -- Why do I have a monster 4K TV and a monster 4K GPU if 1080 is the highest rez? Why, God? -- I have no idea if my game saved or not. I really don't care, because I won't be playing this game again, so it doesn't matter in the slightest. -- Halloween is my favorite holiday and time of the year, and this game just kicked my love for October 31st in the mini- pumpkins. Ouch. -- I hate being mean (no, I don't), knowing that someone poured nearly 10 whole minutes and their entire 18 cent life savings into developing this, but it's just flat-out BAD. Save your money- buy a red-hot poker and stick it in your... It will be money better spent. This review MAY be continued...

visuals are nice enough with that fun halloween spookieness, but the rest is a disaster. controlling the camera with the mouse feels janky the game constantly eats your inputs when trying to fight enemies just home in on you and wail on you or spam projectiles at you, which also results in sound glitches unavoidable homing projectiles are fired at you from off screen your lock on for your ranged attack only works whenever it wants to it's repetitive shlock stay away from this game

It's almost as if the controls and camera hate you.
