Hacknet is an immersive, terminal-based hacking simulator for PC. Dive down a rabbit hoIe as you follow the instructions of a recently deceased hacker, whose death may not have been the accident the media reports.

Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.

Each DLC is estimated with the same model as a game, then summed — a modeled figure, not reported DLC sales.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,515 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

pretty fun game, so can i add this to my CV
I have been waiting for the game to start, and now that I'm halfway through I've given up. It's boring and pointless. There is no story, there are no choices (even though the game wants you to think there are). That aside, it's not really a hacking game. "Hacking" just means typing the same commands and waiting for them to execute... every time... for every PC in the network. Another big problem is that the game implies that it will use real world logic but then it doesn't. Like I can't execute a file on a PC I'm connected to? Since when? Instructions are never clear and even if they are I hate that the game forces me to only do things how the dev intended. Specifically for advcancing missions, it's never clear whether I just need to read the file or send it or send the password contained in it. All of those should work, not just one! There are bugs - mostly soft locks, which is unacceptable for such a simple game. Instead of spending time on the visualizations for each tool the dev should have spent time designing mechanics around them. For instance the firewall analyzer is okay. Not fun, but it's not completely idle, you have to do something. Each tool has to be like that, there has to be some mini-game associated with it, or there has to be some strategy as to which tools are used in what order. I don't know what the music was like. It was so repeptitve so annoying I turned it off and played Vampire The Masquerade: Bloodlines OST. The only thing I liked about the game is the environmental storytelling. The chat logs sound EXACTLY like the Old Internet days. Kudos to the author for the research!
Great!
An amazing hacking simulator, not only technically complex in just the right ways, but also provides a world to explore and modify. What really sealed the deal for me was, of my own volition, hacking into an email server and finding a message with an IP address to a random server with the promise of special software, encrypted with the password being the "best Final Fantasy 10 character". After hacking into the random server and downloading the file, I went and looked up actual Final Fantasy X characters, tried their names one by one, and it actually worked AND granted an achievement. The level of freedom you get is absolutely incredible. tl;dr - 9/10 Great simulator with high player freedom
heh. i guess i'm a certified hacker now.
just a smidge too short and a smidge too bare, in my opinion, but the high moments are *astoundingly* high everybody raves on about the game's finale but Project Junebug is a mission i'll remember for the rest of my life
