HACK.BAK

Fun little game. Reminds me of some old text adventure games I used to play with my Dad as a kid.

Hack.Bak is a replayable game about hackin'. If you know how to use the terminal and find trawling through layers to be a fun puzzle it's for you! Otherwise if you are new to the command line, it's a no stakes way to get used to navigating around and formatting your commands.

Very nice game, right up my alley, had a great time! I kept trying to do netscan && ls lol. If I play it more I'm going to have to set up some shorter aliases. Love it, good job!

update: dev please if youre reading this and had any thought of doing so, please continue to update this game. i can think of so many incredibly fun and cool ways this game could expand and could not only suggest them but even ideas of how you could implement them in your games design sds from my time programming. please let me know if you see this love letter to your amazing game <3333 oh wow this game is incredible and so engaging and addicting, if you like playing around in the terminal and playing around with commands in the context of trying to puzzle out learning new commands then you will love this game. even if you dont have more than a passing interest in programming or messing around in the terminal, if you enjoy the concept of hacking and crawling through network layers of file structures and terminals to deduce what happened to your characters personal files and data; you will love this game. it seems small, but there is a deceptively remarkable amount of depth here in this really really fun, cute, and cool game. a roguelite in terminal was the last thing i expected to find and didnt know i needed to enjoy rn -- and if you think it looks cool, you absolutely need to give hack.bak a try rn. <3333

It's a fun puzzle game that could even help you learn and become more comfortable with terminals. Be hackerman!

Short but entertaining. Some fun flavor, and an interesting 'exploration' feel.

A decent little command line game. Methodical searching will get you through even the long game in a short amount of time. All achievements were gotten with an hour.

Short puzzle type game. There's avenues for expanded content.

pretty fun. feels like an old school dungeon crawler looking for keys. would like to see this expanded a bit. definitely worth the small price tag. quick note: each new game is essentially a dungeon. so the small,medium and large is the depth of the dungeon. large being the most complex to navigate. This wasn't explained at all in the game.

Music is distracting but I can pretend to be hacker man!
