About

In GROUND BRANCH, you will play as the elite paramilitary arm of the CIA's Special Activities Center/Special Operations Group (SAC/SOG) and lead other special operations forces through challenging deniable ops all over the globe. With deliberate, calculated and unforgiving gameplay, GROUND BRANCH aims to be the true rebirth of the tactical realism genre of the late '90s and early 2000s. Powered by Epic's Unreal Engine 4, GB puts the "tactical" back in "tactical shooter" — no compromises.
GROUND BRANCH's unique True First-Person System improves world immersion and awareness of your surroundings, providing zero disconnect between your view and your character's physical presence in the environment. See your foot sticking out of cover? Better tuck it in — enemies may be able to see it (and shoot it) too, but only if their line of sight and muzzle are verifiably unobstructed. Cameras are placed at the character's eyes and bullets originate from the weapon's muzzle. Managing your height over bore when shooting around obstacles or aiming for precision in CQB is critical. In GROUND BRANCH, what you see is what you get.
A minimal HUD with multiple optional elements ensures that vital information is available, but never a constant obstacle to either immersion or your field of view.

Say goodbye to pre-defined kits and fully customize your character. From gear, basic appearance, and outfit, to in-depth vest and weapon platform customization, down to individual pouch and attachment placement. What you bring to your mission is determined by your loadout choice, which carries realistic consequences: with the encumbrance and stamina system, too much equipment will impact your character’s speed and performance; place a scope too forward on the rail and your sight picture will be too small; bring a long rifle into CQB and weapon collision may prove a hindrance.
Forget unlocks, microtransactions and loot boxes. Ground Branch operators get all the right tools for the job straight away — courtesy of the Agency.
Whether in 8-player co-op or 8v8 adversarial game modes, GROUND BRANCH’s unforgiving gameplay makes careful and calculated teamwork essential. Gather your teammates and practice in full-featured training areas, including shooting ranges with dynamic targets and a killhouse with multiple floor plans. Integrated VOIP with both 3D positional voice and team radio ensures full communication capabilities with no need for third-party software. Text chat and pre-recorded voice messages (commo rose-style) are also available for the mic-less and the shy.
Prefer single-player? Missions with friendly A.I. and a full command system are planned for the future.
In the tactical shooter realm, movement and weapon handling are king. Take full control of your character with standing, crouching and prone stances, each with multiple movement speeds. Unique weapon postures (including low- and high-ready), leaning, free-look (head movement independent from aim), and optional and customizable free-aim (dead zone) put every part of your movement in your hands. Add dedicated mouse sensitivity sliders for point-shooting, unmagnified, and magnified aiming, and highly configurable key binding options.
You can also alternate between default actions of certain controls, such as whether a bolt action operates itself after firing or requires another click to operate.

⏳ GROUND BRANCH's unique "campaign" format will deliver smaller, more localized sets of missions based around global hotspots, with a centralized intelligence interface to monitor them and receive new mission orders over time. The choices you make along the way may affect future engagements.
☑️ Based on unique environments all over the world, the non-linear mission and map designs offer multiple entry points and open-ended outcomes.
☑️ Enemies are spawned at mission start, with a degree of randomization to quantity and location. No "monster closets" or magic enemy spawns based on player location or mission progress.
☑️ Ready Room: A physical multiplayer lobby where you can plan your approach, see your teammates' loadouts, test weapon configurations on a firing range and jointly select insertion points.
☑️ Full and 100% free dedicated server support. Host a server wherever you want!
☑️ Unit patches that can be attached to your character's sleeves and gear.
⏳ Full support for MP ladders.
☑️ After-action review (AAR) following each mission/round.
☑️ Server-side options.
⏳ Full mod support.
☑️ No item unlocking, hit markers, kill confirmations or score pop-ups.
⏳ Weapon bracing/supporting.
☑️ Varied arsenal: Multiple handguns, submachine guns, carbines, assault and battle rifles, machine guns, DMRs, sniper rifles and explosives to choose from, with a full suite of optics and attachments to complement them.
☑️ Map variation: In addition to day and night versions as well as weather variation, maps have small details that can change between rounds, such as doors and windows that may be open, closed or blocked.
☑️ Unlimited loadout save slots.
☑️ Item sharing/dropping/pickups.
☑️ Accurate ballistics with penetration, bullet drop and stopping power simulation.
⏳ No regenerating health or health packs: Administer first aid to non-lethal injuries that would further reduce combat effectiveness if not treated.
⏳ Location damage model: Expect visible injuries and consequences, such as limping, reduced arm function, and/or hits to stamina and accuracy. Players immobilized from a non-lethal injury can stay in the fight.
⏳ Drag teammates to safety to administer first aid – or to safely recover their ammo, gear, or cargo.
☑️ Appropriate and realistic playable female characters.
☑️ Partial controller support (configurable).

Waited for the game from Early Access to 1.0 and it was a huge flop, in short the game hadn't gotten any huge impact on the 1.0 update, same old issues, instability, bugs and few additions, no AI companion. What funny about the 1.0 update as well is they were able to add DLSS for NVIDIA gpu users but no FSR for AMD users as the game runs badly on my system compared to it's Early Access stage at epic settings 3440x1440p but the 1.0 delivers a lot of issues, random stutters/fps drop. Oh not to mention the AI is broken can see clearly through any obstacle, night time like it was nothing. The game had a good foundation but they have totally wasted all those potential and the game size is heavily bloated as well from around 45-50gb it went up to 99GB that is almost a size of two games.
Operator is way better Loading into this game the controls feel stiff and jerky, the customization is lacking, and the guns feel like pea shooters The maps are definitely more varied and larger, but moving around in them feels like a rail shooter. The opfor don't react until you are right on top of them, and they react like they were made in 2014. Overall, the game would be a good intro to Operator or RoN, but does not hold a candle to either.

99GBs of texture bloat and unoptimized audio formats, 1GB of joyless "gameplay"
Go get operator instead.
I don't understand all the hate of the 1.0 release. These people obviously have no friends, and rely on subpar AI in other games like Ghost Recon to complete their objectives, I will agree the enemy AI is a bit shoddy. However, that being said, the content available is great, workshop support is fantastic, and despite the AI being a bit wonky, they are still deadly. Make smart choices and don't try to speed run the objective and you'll be fine. Honestly this is a great game with amazing potential post 1.0. If you enjoyed the original Rainbow 6 and not the garbage it has become you and your friends will enjoy this game. Weaponplay - the length and weight of your weapon matters, you build a 20+ inch rifle, CQB is going to be tough, you'll hit the wall and have to hold it at high ready until the barrel clears. Aiming will also cause you to sway way more after a period of time. Customization - Super in depth, down to the slot on the picatinny where you want your optic, grip, riser, laser etc. Custom patches on your plate/helmet/shirt thanks to workshop but a good bit of accurate patches in vanilla, but if you're buying a game like this, I know what you want, chances are you'll find it. Gameplay - Like I said above, AI are punchy but actually somewhat stupid, we all know suppressors aren't silent, but you can dome a guy and the dark, the guy 5 feet away won't hear it. But god help you if they see you, they'll become Chris Kyle or Vasily Zaitsev if they get a bead on you. Cover is extremely important, and I guarantee every negative review looks at Call of Duty as the be all end all of Shooters. The Campaign thus far is 2 missions with more planned to come out with Chapter 1 in the fall and chapter 2 in winter. So far the missions are fun. Even without the campaign, you can pick a wide variety of maps and up to 3-4 game modes. Completely customizable down to the moon phase in the sky. Final Verdict - Sure, its AI is a lil rough, but with all you get for sub $40 its great, On sale, which it is at the time of this writing, it is 20% off so $23.99 Its a steal. They will continue to come out with content and they are transparent about it. Buy it, these devs know what we want and are actively working on making it a reality, and even if they don't, modders will. Cheers.
It's just incredible... Before the release, the game was working perfectly. After the release, it became a nightmare: the game would launch, I could enter the lobby, and I would get an endless error. No matter what I did, no matter what buttons I pressed, or how I tried to fix it, it was all in vain. I had been waiting for the release, only to receive an unplayable game that took up 100 GB of space.
i love shooting sand monkeys
Has potential but feels extremely clunky and has quite a few bugs like not being able to turn off IR illuminators and lasers. Definitely not deserving to be called 1.0 but with some more updates it can get there, maybe a little further ahead of Operator in terms of polish but honestly not by much.
