Excellent video game with good graphics
This game is a total mess, I honestly can't understand these positive reviews. First of all the game is dull, you will be fighting the same 3 enemy types over and over again, the only difference being the quatity and their movement speed. On top of that it isn't even hard to survive once you figured out the perfect strategy, which is buying the medikit and acquiring the flamethrower. I spent one and a half hour in a single round trying to reach wave 50 which was one of the most boring experiences in my life. And to top it all off the achievements don't even work, I wasn't able to unlock any of them.

It's a masterpiece
Words can barely express how impressed I am with this game. The stunning hand drawn renaissance esque art style paired with impeccable level design and a heart-wrenching story makes for an extremely enjoyable experience that you will not forget. the best free to play game with low spec requirements that kept me playing it for 3 hours straight
Grompula is a 2D retro pixel top down wave survival shooter that's been slapped together with the godawful GameMaker Studio video game construction kit from Yoyogames. You control a blue rectangle and shoot oncoming waves of green rectangles and slightly larger green rectangles. The green rectangles are zombies or something, nobody cares. There's some pretense of a plot but the game is mostly just aimless. The gameplay here is tiresomely shallow and unoriginal. At best this is some kind of kiting sim you could play if you never played a video game before, in which case it would appear remarkable, but compared to most video games, it certainly isn't. The game features obsolete retro pixel "art" as a substitute for contemporary PC graphics. It's unclear if this is due to lack of budget or talent, regardless, the overall visual quality of the game is extremely low as a result. Resolution and controls are locked, so there's no way to improve the very poor visual quality or the control scheme. These flaws push this game far below minimum acceptable standards for PC. GameMaker Studio is a very poor quality game construction kit, and unsurprisingly results in products that have little to no value as games, especially when compared to the work of professional developers who create genuine products for gamers. Using a video game construction kit requires little to no talent or skill as a game developer. Very often, GameMaker Studio is used to make shovelware and lazy cash grabs, although in this case the game is completely free. Nothing speaks more to a developers belief in themselves and their product than making their game available for everyone without remuneration. This is certainly a gesture that shows dedication to the gaming industry. It's a shame in this case that the implementation is below the minimum standards a dedicated PC game should offer to enthusiasts. There's no "maybe" option in Steam, unfortunately, but I hope to see more work from this developer, perhaps as part of a professional game development company that can make full use of their talents without needing to make budget/quality compromises like pixel art and using off the shelf game templates and construction kits.
