About

Become a stealer of forms in GRIME II, the sequel to 2021's acclaimed action-adventure metroidvania. You are a Formless - an art mimic, absorbing creatures and summoning molds in their shape.
Venture into a new and mysterious land in the GRIME universe, where danger and wonder await around every corner. Use your surroundings in tandem with your summoned molds to overcome deadly enemies and epic bosses, all the while exploring a deep world full of diverse cultures and characters.
Create your own playstyle by choosing from a variety of abilities, weapons, and mold summons. Learn the makings of your enemies as you summon their form to both aid you in combat, as well as in exploring the various secrets paths of the world.

Molds - Absorb defeated enemies, shaping them into molds which can then be used for special attacks.
Use molds to throw enemies, fire projectiles, stun, and even turn into summons.
Environmental Combat - Wherever you go, the environment provides ample opportunities to damage enemies nearby or from a distance. Be wary, for they can do the same to you!
Parry and Grasp - Send hand-tendrils to either parry enemy attacks or grasp and absorb them, drawing you closer to learning their shape.
A Lived-in World - Discover incredible locations made of painted nails and giant vases, each with its own unique civilization, culture, and deep characters to converse with.
Customise your playstyle with over 30 weapons, 60 armours and 12 abilities.

Great game!
Amazing game, 100% the achievements and had tons of fun playing!
So this game has fun combat and later sections have good platforming so I'll recommend it because overall I had fun, but this game has some serious issues. This is the buggiest/jankiest game I've played in quite a while. Camera has two big issues: sometimes it will have these weird flashes (I think it's different layers of the background?), and there are a bunch of areas where the game didn't expect you to turn around or go backwards so when you do it keeps trying to drag the camera in the direction you're meant to go so you can't see where you're going (horrible issue for a metroidvania). So many clipping and hitbox issues: I've clipped through walls while jumping around, I've landed on spikes where I got hit but then it spawns me at the part of the spikes I hit but now I'm not taking damage, sometimes you can just stand on a wall, sometimes enemies will touch spikes and take chip damage other times they will instantly die from spikes (even elites), some areas require you to grapple a covering before grappling something beneath it but the grapple is so janky it will often make you grapple the thing underneath it and there you go into the wall where you take damage and are sent back as if you touched spikes. The map is really wonky, you can see the edges of areas that aren't real, some areas you explore don't fully show up on the map instead only portions appear so you'll get rooms floating in the middle of nothing because it doesn't show the hallways connecting them. Descriptions in the game are misleading and confusing. For example, the tutorial tells you that you can't parry rage attacks but in the talent tree you will see an ability that says it increases damage when you parry a rage attack, you might assume "oh this means you find an ability later that allows you to parry them" but no, that talent is what lets you parry rage attacks apparently and it just doesn't tell you. The game has a mechanic where you learn enemy attacks and mimic them, but they're really slow and not strong enough to justify the time lost and how long you're vulnerable to attack, cool idea but bad implementation. Other notes: story is more clear in this one than the first but still not particularly interesting and keeps some stuff fairly vague, quick spoiler about an ability you can get
it's very annoying that you don't get a double jump and instead get that wimpy super jump, I don't want to have to charge a jump for every slightly high platform just give me a freaking double jump my god,
exploration is more rewarding than the first one imo, boss difficulty is a rollercoaster with some you can practically facetank while others are a genuine pain. So overall while I did enjoy this, it very much felt like a downgrade of the first due to all the issues.
