GRIDbeat is a fun Rhythm game that looks simple at first but has depth in it's mechanics. The good aspects about the game are how well the Music, Gameplay, and Art direction flow well together, being inspired by a Retro Synth wave style. The gameplay starts out not complex as it teaches you the basic mechanics. But as you continue playing, more mechanics get introduced without being overwhelming to the player. This in-turn challenges the player to adapt to both the different songs found in the game (as they all different beats) and the abilities that the player can unlock as they progress through the game. Aside from the usual rhythm mechanics, there is a hacking gameplay element that gives variety and difficulty to progressing. As for the music, there are a good amount of tracks that really get you in the groove, which is important to have in a rhythm game. Being able to enjoy the tracks really helps in getting into the flow as you progress through the game. Overall it is a solid rhythm game with it's great visuals and music.
Loving the concept of a rhythm puzzle game! It perfectly scratches this itch in my brain of solving a puzzle while listening to great music, to the point that I'm swaying my body to the music while navigating to the beat. Controls are simple enough that it's easy to remember and won't interrupt your focus on the puzzle while still maintaining the thrill of the action. Audio and Visuals go hand in hand to assist you in following the beat. Levels also feel fair and well thought out, some levels pressure you to move quickly but still gives enough leeway for you to stop (and vibe) and think of the solution which is pretty darn helpful for me who crumbles under pressure. Highly recommend the game!
Do you love puzzle games? Do you also enjoy rhythm games? Gridbeat is basically what you’d get if a puzzle game and a rhythm game had a child. It’s a fun rhythm-puzzle game with a great soundtrack. I can see myself getting all the achievements in this game. It’s perfect if you just want to relax and solve some puzzles while listening to some good music. Highly recommended!
I absolutely loved the niche concept of this rhythm-based dungeon crawler. Even though there were occasional input lags and missed movements that sometimes threw off my rhythm, especially when things got intense, I still had a great time. There is something so satisfying about clearing levels in perfect sync with the music.
I LOVE music and what's more I LOVE A GOOD rhythm game! Fire beat, simple movements. Love the Theme, RETRO hacker and lastly I am In love with Synthwave, so best to the devs on this one More music on it and faster bpms.
A perfect combination of rhythm and logic. Solving puzzles in sync with the beat feels very rewarding. The synthwave soundrack isn't just background music, it's the heartbeat of the experience. For someone who loves synthwave, the aesthetic and audio design make it an incredibly immersive experience. It’s challenging, stylish, and highly addictive.
The game's pacing is incredible, and the puzzles are very well designed, they fit together in a way that works extremely well!!!
Games like these are always a breath of fresh air for casuals. It's engaging and it will actually get you hooked. It seems easy on paper but as the game progresses, the mechanics and the problem solving becomes challenging. There are some glitches at some point where the buttons don't work and it's annoying when it blocks your progress on top of re-doing the level but other than that, this is a pretty cool game. A little heads up on those who gets dizzy easily though, after you close the game there's this dizziness that happens lol I think it's because of the design or maybe I'm just old (irl skill issue) lol. Game's fun!
Oozing with style. The game really picks up at level 3 and feels like a wild ride from then on. There's an itch this game scratches in the back of my ADHD brain with the quick pace and frenetic energy each level brings. Just moving around feels satisfying because of the beat mechanic and the music itself is a plus too. Definitely would recommend for anyone that loves rhythm games but wants to try something new
I'm a big fan of Rhythm Games. Not great at them mind you but still a big fan, B.P.M, Rhythm Doctor, Crypt of the Necrodancer are all games I love for the gameplay ideas as well as the music. Gridbeat gives me a challenging pace with a great soundtrack and aesthetic that I'm a huge fan off. Will definitely be playing more of it. If I had one problem with the game, it would probably be my urge to keep restarting a level until I get a perfect clear but that's mostly a me + skill issue.
