About this game states: "reaching the end of each track in one piece is your primary goal" and boy howdy is that true. This is one challenging game and only the strong and most determined will survive here. The kind of challenge that this "sucker for punishment" keeps coming back for. Difficulty aside, the game mechanics hass quite a fresh take on the genre. There are multiple minigames within one track. One monent you're drifting left and right avoiding pitfalls, mines and walls, suddenly the game shifts to a twinstick shooter blasting obstacles and enemies from every direction then only to jump into a "Switch Galaxy Ultra" type of track where you're weighing up damage by doging mines over time and health power ups. I've only hit the second level so far at the time of writing so this will get more intense. Have I mentioned that the game is diffuclt? The sound track is great, I love how the rock genre gives it a fresh feel. I find myself slidin' and boostin' too the drums most of the time and in the diffuclt parts of the track there are solos playin on guitar pushing the stress level to new hights lol. Would I recommend it. Hell yeah!, for 5 bucks this is a steal and its on sale at the moment. Just a little advise when starting out... get used to the brakes and drift ;)
It's broken. My monitor's refresh rate is over 60 and the game MUST run at 60fps. Besides that the idea of a racing game switching context is exciting and the transitions are good in Grid Gunner. The handling isn't bad but it's very slippery so it feels like drifting everywhere. I wish they took it further and incorporated even more game types. Where's the FPS switch!? It's very difficult to get into the game though since it's not a traditional race. It's only about finishing so one slip up and slide off the edge and it's game over. You have to restart. That's too much when the game is rough. You can hit a jump, land on a wall, and then have to restart. It's terrible and frustrating. A more traditional race (time trial) would have been a lot better. I also don't understand why the game makes you collect time if you can fall to your death anyway. Visit my youtube channel for something else: https://www.youtube.com/user/peppage?sub_confirmation=1
