I'm here because of Starless vibe from my childhood... And yeah it's worth it but I rather get this one when it's on sale. Note: You need patch from Dev (Check on discussion someone there leave a link.) to unlock choices and actual H scenes...for those who ♥♥♥ after.

Something wrong with this game. I don't get any choices and the game story just go straight to the bad ending. wtf?
SPOILERS AHEAD! I have incredibly mixed feelings on this game. The femdom concept was amazing and most of the H scenes are written well, they explored taboos and fetishes that you don't see alot of and I appreciate it. But when the whole thing turns out to be a sex trafficking and sexual slavery ring plot it loses the appeal and just makes everything uncomfortable. If it was a game designed to be a psychological horror I would have understood, but it's a nukige where the whole point is to focus on H. Going from what you think are consensual H scenes to finding out they drug them and modify their bodies for customers is a turn off. The best thing about this game is the beautiful art but other than that I really wouldn't reccomend this to anyone who actually is interested in femdom.

I’m a bonafide degenerate, but even I felt dirty after playing this. It introduces "concepts" I genuinely wish to unlearn. And of course, being a Shiravune release, it comes with ugly mosaic censorship. The voiceovers are bleeped too. Game's still good though.
如果不会打补丁慎买,打了补丁完整版也一般般,打折无脑入,好起飞
Great Deceiver is a mature visual novel developed by Empress and Elf and published by Shiravune that leans heavily into character-driven storytelling, psychological tension, and provocative themes. From the outset, the game makes it clear that it is not aiming to be a light or comforting romance story. Instead, it presents a narrative rooted in power imbalance, manipulation, ambition, and desire, using these elements to explore how an ordinary person can be reshaped by circumstances far beyond their control. Its tone is bold and unapologetic, targeting players who are comfortable with adult subject matter and morally ambiguous storytelling. The story follows an unassuming protagonist whose life takes an unexpected turn when he is singled out by Marie Mamiya, the commanding and enigmatic CEO of a powerful corporate empire. Despite being surrounded by wealth, influence, and seemingly more qualified individuals, Marie selects him as her personal trainer at an elite fitness club reserved for society’s uppermost echelon. This unusual choice immediately establishes an air of mystery and unease, drawing the player into a world where appearances, control, and personal agendas are constantly at play. The narrative thrives on this imbalance, using it as the foundation for both character development and thematic exploration. Marie herself is the narrative’s dominant presence, written as a character who exudes authority and charisma while remaining unpredictable and intimidating. Her interactions with the protagonist are layered with subtext, oscillating between mentorship, manipulation, and seduction. Rather than presenting her as a simple antagonist or romantic interest, the game frames her as a complex force that challenges the protagonist’s identity, values, and sense of agency. This dynamic drives much of the tension and makes even seemingly mundane scenes feel charged with implication. As a visual novel, Great Deceiver relies primarily on text, choices, and character interactions rather than gameplay systems. Player decisions subtly shape the story’s direction, influencing relationships and leading to different narrative outcomes. While the overall length is relatively compact, the branching paths encourage replayability, allowing players to explore alternative reactions and consequences. These choices often revolve around how the protagonist responds to pressure, temptation, and authority, reinforcing the game’s central themes rather than serving as arbitrary branching points. The supporting cast helps flesh out the emotional landscape of the story. Characters such as the earnest and idealistic Maki Suzuka provide contrast to Marie’s domineering presence, offering moments of warmth, normalcy, and emotional grounding. These interactions add depth to the narrative by presenting alternative paths and perspectives, making the protagonist’s situation feel less isolated and more psychologically complex. The relationships are not merely decorative; they serve as mirrors to the protagonist’s internal struggle and evolving sense of self. Visually, Great Deceiver adopts a clean and expressive anime-inspired art style that emphasizes character expressions and body language. While environments are relatively static, they effectively frame the scenes and support the story’s tone. Character artwork is detailed and expressive, helping convey emotional shifts that text alone might struggle to communicate. Japanese voice acting adds another layer of immersion, particularly during key scenes, enhancing the impact of dialogue and character presence without overwhelming the reading experience. The game’s adult content is integral to its narrative rather than tacked on for shock value. Themes of sexuality, dominance, and personal transformation are woven directly into character arcs and story progression. While this makes the game compelling for its intended audience, it also firmly defines its niche. Players seeking wholesome romance or lighthearted storytelling may find the content uncomfortable or confrontational, as the game frequently challenges the player to sit with morally gray situations rather than offering easy resolutions. Pacing is deliberate, allowing tension and character dynamics to build gradually. The story does not rush toward its conclusions, instead giving space for conversations and power shifts to unfold naturally. This measured approach helps the emotional weight of the narrative land more effectively, even if it occasionally feels slow to players accustomed to faster-moving visual novels. The payoff comes in the form of endings that reflect the cumulative impact of player choices and thematic exploration. Ultimately, Great Deceiver is a focused and confident visual novel that succeeds by fully committing to its themes. It is not designed to appeal to everyone, nor does it attempt to soften its subject matter for broader acceptance. Instead, it offers a compact but intense narrative experience that explores power, desire, and manipulation through well-defined characters and deliberate storytelling. For players who appreciate adult visual novels that prioritize psychological depth and provocative character dynamics, Great Deceiver delivers a memorable and thought-provoking journey that lingers well beyond its relatively short runtime.
