This game is actually pretty amazing. A physics based spaceship obstacle race, what a great idea! I don't have much playtime yet, but that is just cause the game was only released just now. Positives to the game: - Basically doesn't need any resources - Has great animations and models (The game looks amazing for an Indie developer) - Fun concept of racing around in space and using gravity to get the optimal route - Complex and rewarding gameplay mechanic (you unlock ship upgrades by playing levels) - The tutorials are pretty good and show you how the game works - You feel really good when you manage to beat one of the harder levels Negatives: - Takes quite some time to load when installed on an HDD (for the startup around 10 seconds of black screen) Conclusion: If you are interested on obstacle races and interesting mechanics, you should definetly get this game and give it a go! Would buy it any day again :)
Really enjoyed playing this game. A new take on physics based puzzle games. The graphics made you feel like you were actually flying through space. Overall this game was challenging and rewarding, every time you finished a level you felt like you accomplished something. The controls were confusing at first but with some practice can be mastered easily. Would recommend to any puzzle or physics based game lover!
A review copy of this game was provided to me by the developer. Gravity Vector is a casual space simulation(?) game developed and published by POLIEXA Entertainment. It was released on the 29th of June 2019. The game opens to a fancy looking graphic of the logo accompanied by an ear-piercingly loud startup theme like it's a console from the early 2000's. Following this is the main menu that shows off the clunky ui in all it's glory. Menu animations feel unresponsive and slapped together, and the options menu allows for the customisation of only the most basic elements so there's not much to say about that. Upon starting the game the player is greeted with multiple walls of text that pop up and occupy every inch of available screen space. These walls of text show up in succession to one another serving as the tutorial and really give off a great first impression. Even after dismissing all of the text bubbles there are still paragraphs of text demanding to be read in order to understand how to play the game - it's worse than a Civilization tutorial narrated by Sid Meier! Naturally I skipped all of the reading and jumped straight into the game by clicking on the first big "OK" buttons I could see. Upon pressing the start button I found myself having absolutely no idea as to what I was supposed to be doing or how to do it so I mashed some buttons and worked it out as I went along. This led me to the conclusion that the gameplay of Gravity Vector is, in fact, non-gameplay - You aim your little space-sphere and adjust the initial velocity and hit the launch button and watch as it inevitably cruises directly into the side of a nearby planet or asteroid field. In the heat of the moment as the vehicle drifts along, the player has the ability to rotate the camera using the mouse and the space-sphere using the keyboard. Of course, this has no effect on gameplay and simply allows the player to look at the pretty pre-made assets and pre-rendered backdrops of space. The soundtrack starts off too loud and resets it's volume every time you relaunch the game so you get your ears blasted off whenever you want to play. I would describe the music as "Generic Space Ambient Soundscapes (Royalty-Free!)". For this reason I ended up muting the music and listening to The Birthday Party instead which I think greatly increased the amount of enjoyment I experienced during my time with Gravity Vector. The trailer showcased some interesting-looking visuals and concepts which I assume come from the later levels of the game. However, I was unable to see them for myself due to the fact that I only got through the Alpha series of levels in the hour I spent with the game. Were I to experience these things my opinion of the game may change but I can't be bothered putting myself through playing Gravity Vector any more. In conclusion, Gravity Vector gets 1/5 bruiser points - uninteresting gameplay combined with tutorials comprised of walls of text and a horrible soundtrack make for an experience that I found no enjoyment in. I would like to thank POLIEXA Entertainment for providing my curator page with a couple of review copies of Gravity Vector. I thoroughly enjoyed writing this review and criticising every aspect of the game and would love to do more! If you would like to send us review copies of any games you might make in the future I would greatly appreciate it. This is an awesome Newtonian physics simulation. At first the controls are a bit hard to grasp but once you do this game is a lot of fun. Also, this is a good learning tool for Newtonian physics understanding. If you are looking for a relaxing space game with realistic controls this is the game for you, I thoroughly enjoyed my experience.
Surprisingly beautiful and clever little game involving increasingly complicated gravity-related puzzles. Starts a bit slow but once scenarios begin to develop they present pleasant and unexpected challenges. Seems well-balanced in terms of unlocks vs. the difficulty of the puzzles. The visuals are quite striking (would look and feel INCREDIBLE in VR) and failures are both frustrating and hilarious. Good stuff!
The game is well balanced between simulation and arcade, it gives fun to all kind of space lovers. The continuous challenge and reward system gets you to want more and more. Recommended!
I really love this type of game. It gave me a good 1st impression but again i might be a bit biased because i enjoy physics based games. The 1st load of the game was a bit long but after that the game ran and on the next launch of the game the load time was normal. :)
Its a fun game, which takes little time to learn! Had fun playing it! :)
I didn't play much yet but it is a game with simple but good physics and once you get used to it. You just have a good time ! I have been trying different paths to reach the wormhole on the same map and it works :D You just go your way and fix it if it doesn't work. I really hope some map creation system or multiplayer mode could be added soon and I could spend weeks on this game.
