Boring Angry Birds Space type game. I can appreciate physics based puzzle games, but it's mostly trial and error and has kind of a cheap mobile game feel to it. Is it the worst thing ever? Nah, but there's just so many better puzzle games you could rather play. Maybe only worth playing if you're sitting on the toilet I guess?

Gravity Badgers is a whimsical physics-based puzzle title developed and published by Wales Interactive that fully embraces absurdity as both its thematic hook and mechanical foundation. Released during a period when experimental physics puzzlers were flourishing on PC, the game leans into a deliberately lighthearted tone, casting players into a bizarre cosmic adventure where badgers are launched through space using gravity, momentum, and a healthy dose of trial and error. Rather than striving for realism or narrative gravitas, Gravity Badgers commits to being playful, strange, and unapologetically silly, which defines nearly every aspect of the experience. The core gameplay revolves around launching badgers across 2D space environments filled with planets, gravity wells, hazards, and objectives. Each level functions as a contained physics puzzle where players must adjust angle and launch strength, then watch as gravitational forces bend trajectories in sometimes surprising ways. The basic concept is immediately understandable, but mastering it requires patience, experimentation, and a willingness to accept failure as part of the learning process. Successful runs often come from observing how gravity behaves across multiple attempts rather than executing a perfect plan on the first try, giving the game a rhythm that alternates between careful calculation and chaotic outcomes. As the game progresses, new environmental elements are introduced, including moving hazards, anti-gravity zones, teleporters, and destructible objects. These additions gradually increase complexity without drastically changing the fundamental mechanics, which helps maintain accessibility but also contributes to a sense of repetition over long sessions. While there are over a hundred levels spread across multiple themed episodes, many of them feel like slight variations on familiar ideas rather than dramatic mechanical evolutions. For players who enjoy incremental difficulty ramps and refining their understanding of physics interactions, this structure can be satisfying, but others may find the experience begins to blur together over time. Visually, Gravity Badgers adopts a stylized, cartoon-inspired presentation that matches its irreverent tone. Character art and cutscene illustrations are colorful and expressive, leaning heavily into exaggerated designs and tongue-in-cheek sci-fi parody. In contrast, the in-game environments are relatively sparse, consisting mostly of dark space backdrops dotted with planets, obstacles, and objectives. This minimalist approach keeps the focus on readability and physics clarity, but it also means the visual variety is limited, especially during extended play sessions. The disparity between the lively artwork and the more subdued gameplay visuals is noticeable, though not necessarily detrimental given the game’s casual aspirations. Sound design and music reinforce the game’s playful identity but rarely rise beyond functional support. The soundtrack delivers energetic, retro-flavored themes that suit the spacefaring antics, yet tracks can become repetitive due to the game’s structure and length. Sound effects provide clear feedback for launches, collisions, and interactions, helping players understand cause and effect within the physics system. While nothing here stands out as exceptional, the audio presentation succeeds in maintaining a cohesive and lighthearted atmosphere. Narratively, Gravity Badgers offers little more than a humorous framing device. The story centers on rescuing kidnapped badgers from villainous rivals, delivered through brief cutscenes and comedic banter. These narrative elements exist purely to give context to the levels rather than to drive emotional investment. Dialogue and plot points are intentionally shallow and absurd, reinforcing that the game’s true focus lies in its mechanical experimentation rather than storytelling. Players looking for narrative depth will find very little to engage with here, but those who appreciate playful nonsense will likely enjoy the tone. One of the more divisive aspects of the game is its physics consistency. While the gravity mechanics are central to the experience, they can occasionally feel unpredictable, making some solutions seem more dependent on luck than skill. Collectibles placed within levels offer optional challenges for completionists, but they do not significantly impact progression or unlock meaningful rewards, reducing their incentive beyond personal satisfaction. Boss encounters, though conceptually interesting, often fail to capitalize on the game’s mechanics in creative ways, instead feeling like endurance tests rather than clever extensions of the core puzzle design. Reception to Gravity Badgers reflects these strengths and weaknesses. Players who approach it as a casual, low-pressure puzzle game with a sense of humor often find it enjoyable in short bursts, particularly those who enjoy physics experimentation similar to artillery-style games. Others criticize its lack of depth, repetitive structure, and limited visual variety, noting that it struggles to distinguish itself beyond its quirky theme. These mixed reactions underline the importance of expectations when approaching the game. Ultimately, Gravity Badgers is best experienced as a novelty physics puzzler that values charm and quantity over refinement and innovation. It does not aim to redefine the genre, but instead offers a large collection of light, gravity-driven challenges wrapped in an intentionally absurd package. For players seeking a relaxed, humorous diversion that can be enjoyed casually, it provides a decent amount of content and experimentation. For those looking for tightly tuned mechanics, deep strategic puzzles, or a strong narrative hook, it may feel more like a curious footnote than a standout entry. Within its niche, however, Gravity Badgers remains a confident example of how far a simple idea can be stretched when paired with personality and a willingness to embrace chaos. Rating: 6/10
Boring
스테이지 별 세개 강박증 걸리게 하는 운빨 중력장 언럭키 앵그리버드 스페이스. + 갑자기 유투브에서 유행탔던 오소리 버섯 노래 밈 합쳐놓듯한 2013년도의 마카롱김치찌개마라탕후루. 출시 시기를 따져봐도 2012년 앵그리버드 스페이스가 더 먼저 나왔네요... 게임 자체는 열심히 만든것 같지만 음악은 반복적이고 보스는 왜 있는지 모르겠는 얼레벌레 한 느낌에 이상한 판정을 계속해서 고문받아야하는 100개 넘는 스테이지 빠르게 빙빙 궤도를 도는 즉사 몹 맵 잔뜩 만들어놓고 퍼즐이라고 하면 장르가 왜 퍼즐이 되는지 아직도 제 뇌로는 이해를 못하겠네요;;
