About
Gravity Ace is a 2D twin-stick where you fight gravity in space caves. It's a love letter to Thrust and Gravitar and all of the amazing games they inspired.
Descend into dark caverns, fly and blast your way past enemies, retrieve the reactor core and make your escape, all while fighting the deadly embrace of crushing gravity.
Do you have what it takes, pilot?
You are the Pilot, a volunteer in the United Earth Navy, assigned to the U.E.N. Hornet, a new ship with an experimental engine that allows it to warp behind enemy lines. Launching your small fighter craft from the Hornet, your mission is to sabo`e the enemy by raiding their bases and disrupting their power supply network made up of reactor cores connected through hyperspace.
There are plenty of enemies and they are out to get you. Fly, fight, and maneuver through dangerous enemy bases and intense gravitational fields. The core game includes a 24 mission single-player campaign and a level editor for creating your own scenarios.
Your ship is powerful but has a limited fuel supply. You'll need to scavenge fuel from the enemy to survive. Fuel management requires careful maneuvering and using momentum to conserve enough fuel to escape the gravity well.
Everything that moves is part of the physics simulation. Momentum and velocity can be your best friend or your worst enemy. Use your tractor beam to steal the reactor core, rescue astronauts, or hurl nearby asteroids!
Your ship is equipped with a powerful tractor beam for carrying large objects. The objective of each mission is to extract the enemy reactor core in one piece. Secondary objectives include destroying all enemy units and rescuing astronauts. Be careful -- the reactor core is heavy and fragile!
All of the levels included with Gravity Ace were made with the built-in level editor. You can make your own campaigns, stories, and challenges. And during Early Access, we're adding the ability to share levels with the community.

Gravity Ace includes an original soundtrack with 20 minutes of music.

Excellent game inspired by Thrust from the 86's, with many innovations and good gameplay. The music is beautiful and accompanies the game well. The difficulty is increasing, and the atmosphere is very nice! I recommend buying it! A fan of gravity games
Really fun. Great feel.
very crispy game
Notes: I was gifted a free key to play live on my game dev Stream. And I also use the Godot engine (same engine this game was made in) so this game has a certain soft place in my heart. The two best parts of this game: 1) The game feel. The developer nailed the feel and juice in the game. I find myself just enjoying flying around and in tense moments holding my breath trying to dodge a laser beams or a walls. There are also plenty of nice and juicy explosions, screen shake, and sound effects. John also does a great job of teaching you the game an then slowly ramping up the difficulty. 2) The player can pick how difficult the game is. The only real goal in each level is go get the reactor core. Everything else is optional difficultly. Which I think is genius. There is a grade system to try and get you to the hard stuff, but I don't have an ego and kept saying "C's get degree". As of writing this I've only completed the first act/campaign (2 total). And am excited to tackle the next campaign. There are a few random edge case bugs here and there, but nothing game breaking and out of the normal.
"No... NO, NOOOO!" *explosion sounds* "...Well maybe next time." This game is great! The art style is nice, catchy soundtrack and flying through each level shooting enemies, finding collectibles and trying not to accidentally destroy the reactor core while fighting against gravity is a fun challenge. At the end of each level you are given a rank based on how many of the collectibles you picked up, number of deaths and whether or not you are able to bring the "Reactor Core" with you to the exit. Completing the levels normally has not been too difficult so far, but achieving the highest rank in every level could be a difficult challenge for those who seek it. I'm only roughly halfway through the game so far, but the only thing i would like to see added is steam workshop support or anything similar to share custom levels made using the powerful and intuitive level editor.
This is a very engaging game. I find myself standing and playing while holding the controller in the direction I want the ship to move. Only downside I found was the use of the camera to show the player what to do. This is ok the first time, but it felt unnecessary after a while. Is there an option to turn this off? It sometimes ruined the flow of the game.
Gravity ace is a fun game and my young kids love making impossible levels for dad to complete.
This is a really fun, casual retro-style arcade game. It's clear that there's been a lot of work put into it. The music is suitably old-school, and I love all the sound effects, they're especially pleasing. The graphics are appropriately pixellated, and the game itself is a nice combo of puzzle-solving and shoot-'em-up. Overall, it's very pleasing.
Tougher to clear the missions without dying. I am enjoying the game quite a lot. I turned off the screen shake to make it easier to see what is happening.
I liked the game. It made me feel like I wasn't as terrible a gamer as I am. My first gripe was that respawn felt slow, but there is a setting for that in the menu under "speedrun" along with other quality of life settings. As a casual gamer this game was fun! At the start it seemed like fuel wasn't that big of a concern but it becomes more important later on in the game. After I played through the first stage and played around with the built in level-editor for a few minutes, I think the only thing I would say is that I missed out on reading a lot of the dialogue. It pops up while you are playing so paying attention to it doesn't feel as high of a priority. I think I would've preferred the dialogue between the levels instead maybe? It feels like a game where the developer has listened to feedback and added QoL fixes (like being able to disable dialogue completely if you are just in it for the action).
