A cute game with a cool story. Grappling mechanics are some of the most satisfying gameplay elements you can ever implement if they're done well, and this one does a good, solid job in my opinion. Artwork is charming, music is fun, and the combat is pretty satisfying!

10/10, hidden gem
Grapple Force Rena is very interesting in the context of its publisher, GalaxyTrail, because it is in so many ways a 50/50 of Sega classics Alex Kidd and Ristar to GalaxyTrail's Freedom Planet's Sonic the Hedgehog. Arguably, it doesn't realize its mechanical intents quite as well as Freedom Planet 1, but the core action, once even somewhat mastered, is absolutely satisfying, and even the occasional 'miss' level doesn't really drag down the experience. The writing is above-average but not quite great - when it's trying to be funny, it trends toward being hilarious, but the serious and mysterious aspects of the plot don't quite gel. I'd certainly love to see this crew do more with this premise, though!
Tened Un buen dia y Buen Gaming
Grapple Force Rena is a good action, platformer game, now the story. Rena a young girl who dreams to be a hero who practices every day for the day to prove herself and that day has come. Soon robots start attacking her hometown, now it's up to this young hero to Grapple and throw her enemies into submission and learn what it means to be a hero. All right the likes; the gameplay while being frustrating at times is still good, it was fun to Grapple around and grab enemies and throw them, it’s simple yet pretty good. The story is very good, while on the surface it looks like your standard go and defeat the bad guys, but there are some pretty good moments that to talk about the nature and what being a hero is about, especially at the end which is very good advice. The characters in the game were good, with their own unique looks and some pretty good dialogue, even the NPC’s that only had a few lines were pretty good characters my favorite has to be the tiny Sheriff even though she was only on for just little bit in that one town I found her, I also liked that fairy Puzzle Master she was cute. The pixel graphics for the game are really good, nicely made and pretty detailed with plenty of interesting scenery and character designs. The levels in the game are all very good nice and diverse with plenty of nice locations to look at. The enemies and bosses in the game are very good pretty diverse with their own unique looks and Powers. The music in the game was very good with plenty of nice tracks to listen too. All right the dislikes; there are some parts in the game that can be very frustrating which I think could been fixed if our main character could double jump just a little bit. Price for the game is a bit too high as well should have been $10 maybe 11. Now with all that said Grapple Force Rena is a good action, platformer game, it has a very good story, good gameplay and good characters, now if you're looking for a simple action platformer game, this game is right for you. Honestly I hope someday this game gets a sequel, the story does leave some unanswered questions and there's plenty of room to make a sequel.
i suck at platformers but even i still was able to beat this game and i had fun doing so :)
This game feels like something I'd see played in a cartoon in the background. It's worst type of a bad game, its a game that leaves me feeling nothing. The story is already weak, but you learn very quickly that 99% of the characters can get ignored without any consequence at the first town to the point where I didnt care for anyone unless they became relevent via cutscene. At one point in the third world, I started skipping the cutscenes because the story just feels like "now go here to do X before going here to do Y". I kinda hate the prophecised "oh you alone are the special one" and this game suffers alot from it. You see a character and at most they are relevent for a world before being discarded. While there may be more to the story, I can't care to slog through it and I stopped playing near the end of the third world. "Oh I'll just skip the cutscenes and enjoy the gameplay" also feels like a waste of time. The controls are fine, if not a little weak, but the level design doesn't work nicely with the grappling mechanics. TIght corridoors will surround you that are just too tight to be able to move easily. Even if you dont grapple as much, levels love to waste your time. "Find stuff to weigh down a switch" is an entire level and its bland and boring, with it ending up with you backtracking with gem after gem. At one point in the third world you're expected to just sit there and roll dice until you get seven, with the only thing to help you know this being something that could just be regarded as a background detail considering the gambling theme. Overall, there are better games for £11. If you're interested just try the demo. I only really got this as part of a bundle.
Very fun 2D platformer. The grapple works super well for combat and for exploration. Every single level has felt different, whether you're clearing out a town with a partner or trying to unlock a door using a pressure pad. The presentation is also great, with wonderful music, distinct locations to explore, and an extremely charming story.
