About
Granvir: Zero Front is a third person shooter action roguelite featuring mech building. Experience the prelude to the Millennium Horizon campaign in Granvir as the first resistance response to the Millenium Company invasion. Players battle through a route of their choice reaching extraction and completing side objectives at the cost of valuable resources. Between battles, players can swap out parts for upgrades found on the battlefield and manage their campaign by taking on loans to afford ammunition, aiding the locals for support in battle and more.

Equip devastating melee weapons such as swords, rocket spears and pile bunkers. Wield powerful long range guns like cannons, machine guns, flamethrowers and rocket pods. Mix and match armaments to suit your play style.

Mix torsos, legs, armatures and special modules to customize your Granvir. Defeating enemy ace pilots unlocks their unique parts.

Complete any campaign in single-player or multiplayer co-op with up to 10 Granvir pilots at a time. Share parts and resources utilizing the squad depot in rest areas as you plan your next moves.

No campaign is the same as you manage time, resources and your route to each objective. Each zone impacts what services and resources are available. Use down time between missions to refit and upgrade your Granvir to prevail.

cool mechs
This is a fantastic demo but there is one large thing that peeves me. The keyboard bindings are... rather messy. Often you will be shown controls which don't do anything with your currently equipped weapon, and it's not entirely clear which weapons will prevent your body part's weapons from working. Eg. being able to use a grapple with a handgun, but not with a shield or a sword. Upon further playing this also applies to legs? apparently? Currently not able to kick because of the other parts on my mech. I suppose my problem is that the game doesn't adequately tell you when you can't do something.
definitely something cool but the UI and inventory system weren't amazing. you get a ton of stuff but can barely use any of it during a mission and i dont want to sit there and compare the stats of some arm to my arm and i cant even see my own arms stats until after the mission but i dont even know what the mission is and all the enemies are dead and im just running around and then I quit. will try again
I made a mech with a grappling hook and a katana
can make a giant combat dog 10/10
This game/demo is incredibly fun. Fun enough for me to write a review. It's very clearly a deeply passionate developer pouring their soul into it. The furthest thing from "slop" you could find. The sheer build diversity is overwhelming at first but quickly becomes the most engaging build system I've seen in a game. Other mech games become overwhelming as time goes on, but this one becomes more elegant. In just our last run my friends and I played as: a Chromehound gun turret, an Armored Core great axe hovertank, a grappling hook knife tractor, and a mass produced Knightmare Frame. Every single build feels fun to play, but melee builds can be very hit or miss. That said, there is some grit when it comes to the game. The UI isn't the cleanest and binding your mech's controls often feels a bit more bloated and confusing than it needs to be. My biggest hope would be an overhaul for how the control binding is presented, because half of the options are never even used. If they're supposed to be used then that needs to be communicated better. The one thing I wish the game had is a non-roguelike mode. Something like a more static career campaign is much more interesting to me, but that's literally not what the game is trying to do. I only say this because I would love a career mode a la Mechwarrior 5. Get your friends together and play this game as a group and you're going to have an extremely enjoyable game night for zero dollars. Absolutely one of the hidden gems of the current era of indie games.
An excellent game. My first three hours absolutely flew by. If you enjoy mech building and roguelike this is an easy game to suggest, and bonus you can play it easily on an aging laptop.
