About
A story-driven RPG inspired by classic JRPGs, featuring a unique fast-paced turn-based combat system built around timing, combos, and survival without traditional healing.
Follow Saragat and his allies as they become entangled in a web of conspiracies surrounding The Core — a shadow organization manipulating world events from behind the scenes. As nations edge closer to war and powerful factions begin hunting Saragat, an even greater ancient threat stirs beneath the surface
Act 1 delivers a focused 10-hour narrative experience packed with strategic combat, genuine character interactions, and a world shaped by decades of lore.

Fast-Paced Turn-Based Combat
Master a unique battle system focused on combos, active timing mechanics, and exploiting enemy openings.
No Traditional Healing
The refined Focus System replaces standard healing mechanics, creating tense and strategic encounters where momentum and defense matter.
Active Timing Offense & Defense
Increase damage with well-timed attacks, block incoming strikes, or perfectly parry enemy assaults. Prefer a more traditional RPG feel? Let the dice handle timing outcomes automatically.
Burst Combo System
Build combo chains with your party to increase overall damage and unleash devastating directional Burst finishers.
Real-Time Duels & Training
Grow stronger through 1v1 duels and training encounters rather than repetitive grinding.
Crest Customization System
Replace traditional equipment with spiritual Crests that define each character’s combat role, strengths, and weaknesses.
Real-Time Airship Battles
Take control during aerial combat sequences that punctuate key moments in the story.
Fully Voiced Cast
Experience the journey with a complete professional English voice cast.
Classic Overworld Exploration
Travel across a traditional JRPG-inspired overworld filled with secrets, encounters, and story events.
Post-Game Challenge Dungeon
Face difficult endgame content that will continue expanding post-launch ahead of Act 2.
Saragat’s life is thrown into chaos when he becomes a target of The Core, a hidden organization operating behind governments, militaries, and global conflicts. Pursued by multiple factions and caught between rising superpowers, he and his allies uncover secrets tied to an approaching catastrophe that threatens the entire world.
Combat in Granser revolves around managing Focus, exploiting enemy weaknesses, and maintaining offensive pressure rather than relying on traditional healing loops.
Use active timing mechanics to strengthen attacks, defend against incoming blows, and perfectly parry enemies to create openings. Build party-wide combo chains to maximize damage output and gather Burst energy for devastating finisher attacks.
Character progression avoids traditional grinding. Permanent stat increases, abilities, and growth come from duels, training, and world interactions.
The Crest System allows deep customization without conventional gear systems, enabling players to shape party members into specialized combat role
Granser is the culmination of over two decades of worldbuilding and development by solo developer Steve Gal, creator of the Skautfold: Shrouded in Sanity series.
Originally conceived as a comic project before evolving into games, Granser continues the wider universe established through the five-game Skautfold saga:
Skautfold: Shrouded in Sanity
Skautfold: Usurper
Skautfold: Into the Fray
Skautfold: Moonless Knight
Skautfold: Knight's End
Developed solo without crowdfunding, Granser: Act 1 marks the beginning of a larger ongoing story.

Reviews
Solid Jrpg with a large world and lore behind it. Hope we get to see more of it. The battle system is fun as hell and feels as engaging as current jrpgs.
After playing for 1 hour, I’m certain this might be the JRPG I’ve always wanted. Mature sci fi story, qte turned based combat system with depth, unique art style and ost, everything feels right. I’m going to dive deeper once I have the time and will update the review. I hope it’s as special as I think it could be.
I have only completed the tutorial, however, the combat was enjoyable and I am excited to see how it will develop. The atmosphere of the world is also very compelling and robust and makes me want to continue keep exploring. I recommend it if you are a fan of turn based games.
Review to be expanded. Granser is, in short, all the good bits from the Skautfold pentalogy with all that game developing experience added and matured to a videogame that is not only a clear passion project, but one well done and that surpasses itself in near all areas. Not only is a good RPG, but if you already liked Skautfold, this is the great work all of it buit towards.
