Government Simulator

This game is left wing propaganda. It should be called "Increase Taxes Simulator". The game logic is very primitive.

Really love these kind of games and have put numerous hours into the likes of Democracy and have had this on my wishlist for some time and when it went on sale I finally bought it. Wanted to like this game but its very one dimensional and depth of options is not great. Not as many options for law's policies etc as in other games and the popularity is easy enough to manipulate even if you are ruining the country you will probably still get re-elected! I played as Switzerland and "won" within 20 minutes, i.e. completed all the required goals and that's it Really genuinely wanted to love the game but it's too shallow in my opinion and requested a refund - even though the game only cost me €7, it feels like the game would just sit in my library uplayed so I just requested refund Sorry Dev - really wanted to like it but it needs more substance.

better play Democracy games from Positech -.- this one looked interesting on the demo where you play only for one election but after you buy the full game, all the following election cycles just become extremely repetitive - no random "events" - you need to adjust "all" budgets as your economy grows/declines.... - all "measures" cost some amount of money, whereas Democracy you could have polemic but low cost / high effectiveness measures implemented

This simulation is simultaneously overly simple and incredibly opaque. Problems often get much worse with no warning and no change you can make with your arbitrary political budget to a handful of non-descriptive sliders addresses whatever hidden reason the simulation has decided public health has gotten 50% worse in 3 months. Good for maybe an hour which is probably how long the developer spent trouble shooting.

This game doesn't make sense, and not because I don't understand economics. This game simply doesn't work. Laws don't really effect the economy, and the budget makes no sense. I fixed America's debt, and then had a GDP of 100 trillion. In 2030, there's no way America could have this kind of GDP. Regardless of economy, military doesn't make any sense either. I managed to win defeat Syria and Afghanistan by just putting more 'resources' into the wars. Cuba fell in 2 quarters. The worst part was when I used a nuclear weapon against china, and the entire world decided to nuke me, and I fell. Even if America used a nuclear weapon against China there's no way they would be this hypocritical for China. Perhaps some would support China, but not every single country. And with one nuke to the capital, it was over. Seeing my massive defense budget I wouldn't think I could've been nuked in the first place, but whatever. The budgets didn't make sense either, you had to constantly ramp up spending and you would end up 'not spending enough' even though you're putting billions more dollars toward the same things. The game has a lot of potential, but it was clearly abandoned and never really showed light. Just play Democracy 4 or 3 instead, or even play Rise of Nations on freaking roblox for a more realistic game.

Very Bad Game - Not a "Simulator."

A bit basic on many levels, but .... it just gets you and before you know it you have gone through several years of simulation. Just plain fun. Can't wait for #2!

I defeated every nuclear capable country in war. When I started nuking third world countries, apparently all of the nations I defeated nuked me? Unrealistic, wanted to nuke third world countries without ramifications 2/10
