About
Golf Club Architect is a game about creating, managing and playing your very own golf course.
Start out with a few simple holes to get those green fees rolling in and as your funds accumulate further refine, grow and decorate your course to satisfy your customer's skill and aesthetic needs.

Design and construct the golf course of your dreams from the ground up. Sculpt rolling terrain, carve out bunkers, shape fairways and greens with precision, then bring your vision to life with lush surfaces, water features, and carefully placed scenery. Every hole is yours to craft from challenging doglegs to sweeping par 5s. With an intuitive suite of terrain and object placement tools that make course design feel creative and rewarding. Whether you're recreating iconic layouts or dreaming up something entirely new, the possibilities are endless. Build a course that's uniquely yours, then watch as AI golfers take on every challenge you've designed.

Step onto the course you built and play it yourself. Take control of your own golfer and experience every hole firsthand, read the greens, judge the wind, select your club, and shape each shot with skill and precision. Challenge AI golfers head-to-head and prove you can conquer the very course you created. Feel the satisfaction of threading a drive down a tight fairway you designed, or sinking a clutch putt on a green you sculpted by hand. There's nothing quite like teeing off on a hole you created and discovering just how tough, or how rewarding, your design really is.

Dive deep into the data behind your course with a powerful suite of analysis tools. Study the beauty of your landscape through visual heatmaps and examine your terrain with detailed elevation overlays. Track how AI golfers tackle your holes with shot analysis that reveals driving patterns, approach tendencies, and where players thrive or struggle. Every tool gives you the insight to refine, rebalance, and perfect your design, turning raw creativity into a course that plays as brilliantly as it looks.

Take charge of the business side of running a golf course. Keep a close eye on your finances, monitor income from green fees, track expenses, and make smart decisions to keep your course profitable. Hire and manage a team of groundskeepers to maintain your fairways, tend your greens, and keep bunkers in pristine condition. A well-maintained course attracts more golfers and earns a stronger reputation, while neglecting upkeep will see standards slip and visitors dwindle. Balancing the books with boots on the ground is the key to building a course that thrives. It takes more than great design to run a world-class golfing destination.

this game is way more engaging than it looks at first. Designing courses feels intuitive and rewarding, and testing your own layouts adds a really satisfying loop. It strikes a great balance between creativity and light management, without ever becoming overwhelming. I kept going back to tweak “just one more thing.” If you enjoy builder or sim games, this is an easy recommendation.
Hatte auf ein modernes SimGolf gehofft, aber leider ist es das für mich nicht. Es fehlt an Atmosphere. I was hoping for a modern SimGolf, but unfortunately, it's not that for me. There's a lack of atmosphere.
It is not possible by now to optimize this game for my PC. I have maybe 4 FPS. The idea is very good, creating your own course and playing it. I wonder why this is the only game like this. The controls of the cam are not working for me. PLease add more prezice cam movement, especially i you want to adjust your view where you are editing. This game has much potential, but please optimize it. As example if I change the resolution, the letters are not readable anymore and if I turn off grass and make low quality, it has still maybe 4 FPS. That it is possible to play a game like this show other games where you can lower down every parameter very low and you have normal FPS.
My advice, and perhaps preferences as well: - Remove the whistling or at least make it a rare sound effect, when using speed 2 or 3 it is just constant and really irritating. - Add a marker post placeable object. Just a black and white pole that can only be placed on Fairways, and it increases nearby shot accuracy. Perhaps it must also need to be at least 180 yards from the Tee in order to be placed. - Add the ability to link up to two Tee's to one hole. Allowing the player to make an 18 hole using 9 holes. Ai should treat the method of queuing up exactly the same as they already do if the hole is already in use, except of course that they are going off a different Tee in a slightly different start location. For an even more complex challenge, this could also be used for Handicap Tee's, could even introduce challenges to beat people who take a handicap Tee over yourself (not sure how complicated that Handicap idea would be though, could be messy) - Create a tool for painting out of bounds areas, not sure how complicated this next suggestion is... would it be possible to have the game realise the edge of this painted area, and for the game to, by default, spawn in tiny little white signposts every 25-50 yards? (basically to really impression the out of bounds course rules and also look realistic). Ai just reacts exactly like a water hazard and the ball is lost. - Driving range facility placeable, just as a booth/tee position though not as a whole one piece complex, then this way everything that is inside the line of sight for the Tee's can offer excitement/happiness and income boosts. Placeables for the range: Targets, Posts, Flags, Objects, Distance Markers. Would love to see far more placeables which I am sure your team already have planned anyway: Shop, Clubhouse, Range, Putting Green, Practice Bunker, Bar, Accommodation, Halls/Events Spaces. Along with more variations in the Tree's, Rocks, Types of surfaces too, Statues or Monuments, Features and unique items just to give the course some character and the holes some themes and style.
Such a fun game so far. Already has so much in it that sim golf was missing. The game's team releases frequent updates and is always adding new features/fixing bugs. I can not wait to see where they continue to take this game!
this game is amazing for painting golf courses. getting to play them out when youre done is great fun, too. have built a couple of courses now I wish I could play for real!
Update 30.06.2025 Changed the review to recommended. Devs are hard at work, good at communicating and their discord server is a great place for feedback. Played the game some more and really enjoying it, this has the potential to become really great. Been playing it for a few hours now and I'm enjoying it to a certain degree. However there are some bugs that grind my gears and some features I wish were in the game. Bug(s): - Every now and then when I delete a golf tee the game interface and actions become unresponsive, I can no longer save the game and I have to reload my last save (auto or regular), this has made me lose quite a lot of progress on my course which is infuriating to say the least. - Random crashes also do occur a unity game engine pop up shows up saying some error code, then crashes. - The surfaces tool becomes very janky when using the smallest size, like it struggles to add an element at the smallest selected size, so the whole surfaces tool might need some reworking. - Another bug I just experienced a few times is when you accept a challenge to play your golf course my player now plays the first hole, then walks back to the clubhouse while the challenger finishes the round, making me the winner, but I don't get to play more than the first hole. - If you load a game from in the game and not the main menu you risk getting the pre created character as your player which is a setback. Features & improvements: - There should be an undo button, too many times I've had the bulldozer feature enabled and I've accidentally clicked something vital like the club house or a tee and that bugs the game... So have a undo button or add a confirmation when clicking bulldoze on built items like tees and club houses. - Improve the smoothing/flatten tool, the flatten tool is too drastic and hard to control and the smoothing tool is just too slow so it becomes tedious to do course management. - Better tooltips, or descriptors to things. Starting out it was confusing what was required and how to go a long to create a course. - Would love to see a proper club house builder, with floor planning, facilities and items for sale, also having a halfway house would be great that sold drinks and simple food items. - Also, I can't seem to find a way to renumber my courses/tees/holes? So in the start game I make the initial six courses, but then want to expand on that by adding a few more courses in between the original six, wanting then to reorder the course numbers I have to delete tee boxes and holes and add them again which gets insanely costly... - One should also be able to move the hole from time to time, just edit the location of it without deleting it and placing a new one, its quite common on golf courses that the hole changes from day to day in competitions. I hope the game continues to get development as it needs it and can in the end become quite the good builder like Rollercoster Tycoon just for golf courses. For now I will not recommend it until the bugs causing crashes are solved.
Great amount of items for an early access. The Devs are very responsive on the Discord. Would 100% recommend
Good game. A bit clunky as they develop it. But fun to create holes and layout entire golf courses. Maybe youcould add a couple of different clubhouse choices? Perhaps a snack shack at the turn or bathrooms. Choose a beverage cart to be active to increase happiness... A driving range since there is so much real estate, well beyond what you need for 18 holes. I was also thinking, add in the option of building a golf community by letting us choose and place various houses and/or condos.
Good game, small developer. Please download and buy, its a fun and relaxing golf builder, and I hope to see more in the future. Support indy devs!
