I wish this game was better thought out and showed any real care. The demo was cute and fun, and I was eager for more. But the full game fails to expand on anything. The only new thing is different flower mechanics, which can be interesting, sure! But everything is hollow. There's a character who wants to race you around, right? Is there a race mechanic in game, a small game or scene or something so you feel like you're racing with her? No. She simply appears whereever you go a little while after and tells you you beat her record. There's a father with missing children. Rather than the children having left for some silly reasons you must now also fix like them wanting to play with you, they are like dolls. You pick them up and bring them back. The slide you cannot slide down. The pools you cannot dive down or really swim in. You cannot swing on the swings. No one reacts if you accidentally drop a water balloon on their heads. Where is the joy? The interactivity! The uniqueness of characters reflected through the gameplay! The game has good. The demo shone so brightly because it was solid for THAT area. But nothing changes. Nothing is added. And it misses all the small opportunities to engage the player and delight. Combine all that with the increasing workload as the game continues, and it becomes a slog. I ended up making up my own games wherein I had to beat as many of the houses as possible without any plants at all. But 50 some odd in and I can only make my own fun so much. Add interactivity. Add connection. Make your world feel childlike and fun. The small things are vital for cozy games to feel fun, it isn't aesthetic. Take joy in the world itself around you. For almost 20 dollars, the demo shouldn't be the highlight of this game.
One of the cutest games I've ever played in my life. It's a mix of both platforming and gardening sim. You go around and help birbies with some quests while making the garden around you bloom with flowers!! Such a beautiful game man...
I really had fun with this game! Having the player plant flowers to explore areas they otherwise can't get to is such an awesome concept! It ties in perfectly with the simple story the game has! And I just love how they make your bird hop around instead of giving her a lil walking animation. Not only is it accurate to how these lil fellas actually move on the ground, it's also super freakin' cute! There are a couple issues I have with the game, though. The UI generally feels a bit bland and out of place for how cute and charming this game is. I also kinda wish that the game had a bit more variety in the music. A couple of the areas effectively just use remixed versions of each other's songs, which takes away some of the uniqueness from the areas. Despite those more minor issues, I think this is fun lil casual game! I'd recommend it for anybody who's looking for a more laid back puzzle platformer!
Absolutely charming game As a person who adores birds and likes chill games, I find Garden Thrills perfect. Lovely artstyle, great animations, and nice music. I loved puzzles and the variety of mechanics flowers have. Game feels very heartfelt and I thoroughly enjoyed my time with it Huge thanks to the developer for adding a game about delightful little birds with a passion for flowers to the cozy-games catalog. I'm glad this game exists
I fell in love with the demo and I couldn’t resist to purchase the whole game. Such a charming and cute relaxing game exploring a garden in different stages, solving puzzles/quests and using flowers to achieve those goals. Adorable customisation of the main character (a lovely bird who just moved to its new home). Highly recommended to spend some time keeping your mind busy yet calm.
Charming cozy gardening game where you get to be bird and unlock different hats, would recommend it
I absolutely loved Garden Trills! It’s a charming and peaceful cozy game with a soothing and heartwarming atmosphere. What stood out to me most were the imaginative challenges and the wide variety of beautiful flowers you can plant. On top of that, there are tons of adorable accessories you can collect to dress up your bird. Just when you think there couldn’t possibly be another cute hat, the game surprises you with something you’ll want to try on right away. Also, if you enjoy being creative and love decorating, this game offers so much more beyond the main story. There’s plenty of room for artistic flower arrangements and aesthetic garden designs. Highly recommended for anyone who enjoys cozy, creative games!
A wonderfully relaxing little game with a hoppy little birb looking to pretty up their new home. With each plant having a unique little traversal mechanic, you can conjure up fun routes for your birb to bounce, spring and even teleport about to explore the garden to its fullest. A soothing recommendation! Chirp!
This game has a way of relaxing vibes as you play as a small bird planting flowers all over the land to get your water hoses working. It makes me have the feeling that if birds can be gardeners, they would be pretty good at it. It has a lot of cosy feelings with a lot of charm and the music is tranquil, if a bit repetitive. The different flower mechanics are an interesting touch for transportation and there are a ton of cosmetics to collect. You can even plant flowers in your home garden to spruce it up however you want. This is a very chill game for any garden or bird fans and a very great game to get your mind off things.
This is such a beautiful, charming, and fun game. My spouse and I took turns passing the controller back and forth so one could play while the other watched. Fantastic game for a nice relaxing night on the couch.
