About
Golf Club Architect is a game about creating, managing and playing your very own golf course.
Start out with a few simple holes to get those green fees rolling in and as your funds accumulate further refine, grow and decorate your course to satisfy your customer's skill and aesthetic needs.

Design and construct the golf course of your dreams from the ground up. Sculpt rolling terrain, carve out bunkers, shape fairways and greens with precision, then bring your vision to life with lush surfaces, water features, and carefully placed scenery. Every hole is yours to craft from challenging doglegs to sweeping par 5s. With an intuitive suite of terrain and object placement tools that make course design feel creative and rewarding. Whether you're recreating iconic layouts or dreaming up something entirely new, the possibilities are endless. Build a course that's uniquely yours, then watch as AI golfers take on every challenge you've designed.

Step onto the course you built and play it yourself. Take control of your own golfer and experience every hole firsthand, read the greens, judge the wind, select your club, and shape each shot with skill and precision. Challenge AI golfers head-to-head and prove you can conquer the very course you created. Feel the satisfaction of threading a drive down a tight fairway you designed, or sinking a clutch putt on a green you sculpted by hand. There's nothing quite like teeing off on a hole you created and discovering just how tough, or how rewarding, your design really is.

Dive deep into the data behind your course with a powerful suite of analysis tools. Study the beauty of your landscape through visual heatmaps and examine your terrain with detailed elevation overlays. Track how AI golfers tackle your holes with shot analysis that reveals driving patterns, approach tendencies, and where players thrive or struggle. Every tool gives you the insight to refine, rebalance, and perfect your design, turning raw creativity into a course that plays as brilliantly as it looks.

Take charge of the business side of running a golf course. Keep a close eye on your finances, monitor income from green fees, track expenses, and make smart decisions to keep your course profitable. Hire and manage a team of groundskeepers to maintain your fairways, tend your greens, and keep bunkers in pristine condition. A well-maintained course attracts more golfers and earns a stronger reputation, while neglecting upkeep will see standards slip and visitors dwindle. Balancing the books with boots on the ground is the key to building a course that thrives. It takes more than great design to run a world-class golfing destination.

So much better than almost all of the other games that have tried this. The dev team is super engaged on Discord and very encouraging. The game is fun to play and does a really good job of giving you that base SM Sim Golf feel. Looking forward to the continuing updates and where the game goes.
It's just fun enough to get you invested before it crashes and you have to throw your progress away. Could be great if someone worked on it.
Bought day one with the hopes of it becoming a decent Sim Golf remake. From the first few minutes you can tell they put time and consideration into the game. The early access is a little early in my opinion BUT even in it's day one status it was decent. Since then they have made several improvements and the game continues to steadily improve.
Constantly lags while un-paused. Highly recommend pausing before doing anything, even panning the camera (virtually unplayable while un-paused). Will change my review once this major issue is patched.
Definitely a great game. It reminds me a lot of Sid Meier's Sim Golf. It still has some room to grow, and some bugs to fix(golfers getting stuck). However, I'm excited to see how it continues to grow.
i think its very reminess of sid meirs golf game many years ago, but not quite. if the developers stick at it it could have a lot more potential and whilst its certainly fun it needs a few things to make a bit more captivating to come back and play over and over again. maybe add tournaments/ possibly a money system where you can play for tournament prize money at your club. maybe sell items in the pro shop and around the club etc. more aims for the game to make your own golf club from scratch to a major course holder.
Hello all, I played GolfClub Architect today after seeing it was awaiting an update, "an update for a demo?" I said to my adult son. Then I realized it was not an update for the Under Par Golf Architect Demo, but instead was an early access game of a VERY similar name: Golf Club Architect. It was soon after clicking play on my Steam Deck that I realized the mistake I had made less than a month ago. You see I had access to an early concept demo of Under Par Golf Architect in December 2025 and despite a few bugs here and there it is the closest to Sid Meier's Sim Golf remake I have seen since the original, on any platform. Well I was all in, sold on buying Under Par Golf Architect so very much that when GolfClub Architect hit Early Access, I without noticing amongst all of the other Golf related stuff that I searched Steam for, I hastily and unintentionally purchased Golf Club Architect thinking it was the EA launch for Golf Architect, making me as stupid as stupid gets. Anyhow back to my review for Golf CLUB Architect, sorry for the impromtu backstory. I want to be as fair as I can to this game given the circumstances its purchase but this game is so poorly optimized that running it on the lowest settings my 2024 OLed 1Tb Special Edition White Steam Deck struggled to maintain 10 FPS. So I looked through the discussion forums to find a solution, only to see lots of discussions about lack of updates, lots of bug reports and many people making suggestions to improve the game, but the nail in its coffin for me was a discussion asking why there isn't an option to play a hole or a round of golf. Even Sim Golf allowed you to play your coarse, I honestly hope the devs pick up the pace and start adding BUG FREE updates, from what I have read and the huge gap in updates (except the last few months where they have very frequent updates, but the caveat being game breaking bugs) I feel the devs are out of their depth and may never get the game to meet theirs or their customers expectations. Sorry devs but you get a thumbs down from me but I will be watching and may change in the future, good luck
I like this game alot, but it does need some more updates and fixing for me to really want to play it more often than I do. I feel like the golfers are glitchy alot and get stuck in randoms spots across the course which then leads to me having to shut the course down and reopen the course to reset the golfers but even that doesnt work sometimes. I think for adding things to the game it would be cool to instead of once you finish the 18 hole course and the games basically over, you could add where the course can then be improved from a local public course to a private golf club and then onto a korn ferry tour course and then a pga tour course, and have to have a certain rating with each of the current rating scales like beauty and difficulty to achieve each of these goals, obviously I dont think that actually putting pga tour and korn ferry tour would be able to happen for legal reasons but you could say for a pga tour equivalent course it could just say professional tour or something generic and same for the korn ferry tour just say semi-pro or amateur tour. I think this would be a cool rating to add to the game, and then once you make it to these ratings you can add tournaments into the game instead of just casual tee times. You could then set up a leaderboard for the tournament and see who won and stuff. There could also be tournaments for the local and private golf clubs but the tournaments are for less money and are not as difficult. You could also add where your player could enter these tournaments and work their way up to being a pro golfer that would be cool to see added as well. All of this I think is possible and would be an amazing way to help the game grow and add some more fun and objectives to the game and make people play the game longer and enjoy it more as well.
I am going guess there is only one person working on this title as hobby game development, so far the games not really bad it just need more love and attention it seems thought in all that is fair the devloper been putting out small updates mostly couple every month going back over the updates there was about average of 3 small updates pre month being released that is till this last update Sun, April 19 Update 0.86.0 now may did not receive any updates at all and where going into june hopefully get few updates sense we are over due now. progress is slow it seems.
Only just played around for a little bit making a couple of holes, but plays nicely and gives Sim Golf vibes, which has to be a good thing!!!
