As I suspected this is a golf game. Listen to US GOLF 95 and chill
Speaking objectively, its kind of an underwhelming collection. Shuffleboard and World class bowling save it. Not even talking about all the golden tee games essentially just being one since there's practically nothing different aside from the menu intro. But these had home releases in the early 2000s with online multiplayer. This collection doesn't. Still mostly recommend it. Golden Tee is peak dive bar gaming and to have that on steam is nice. Experienced controller issues though so wouldn't recommend if you're planning to play this on steam deck
i like to play gorf
I have the ultimarc trackball in my home arcade, and this collection is great and works wonderful with the trackball. Sensitivity works for me, and I turned it to about 70. I recommend it, but definitely feels barebones. The golden tee I play in my local arcade at least lets me pick man or woman, change clothing, etc. Figured adding something new to the classics or adding the newest versions of golden tee would be nice for a $30 price but hey, I got this for the trackball support only. Also, please remove the trackball from the screen if I’m using a trackball. Like what? 😂
This game is hard. Not bad hard, just hard. It's old school hard. It's arcade game hard. You have to pay attention to every single thing you do and play very carefully. That said, it's great fun. You'll gnash your teeth, you'll occasionally swear, but you'll feel you've earned everything you've achieved. Sure you'll feel occasionally you've been robbed by RNGsus, but you need to keep at it. In most cases you'll know exactly what you did wrong. I played this with a mouse rather than a trackball which is not ideal. It's not perfect, but it's adequate enough. Oh, and the interface is garbage until you've got a handle on it. The price is a bit high, get it on sale, grit your teeth and prepare for being occasionally royally shafted. I still think it's good. It's a good example of the old adage, winning is fun but losing is also fun (especially when you don't have to keep slamming money into it).
10 hours in and I'm comfortable with 90% of the controlling with a mouse. I used a mouse on the previous CD game version years ago so it was a matter of relearning. I'm still struggling with chipping, but the rest of the shots I have. I bought a recommended trackball and it just doesn't work for me. The game is a run of several version of the same basic game we all spent thousands of dollars playing and occasionally winning in the online tournaments. I still rock my player card but retired when other life expenses took over. It's as close to the originals as you're going to see. Risk/Reward shots on most holes and increasing wind difficulty as you go on. The are a few things I'd change. I get it's not exactly as it was, but you could offer a full screen mode. The CRT option is pretty cool, but a nice full screen of the game with a button option to bring up the shot shapes could work. It's also cumbersome that the return key only works in some modes and you have to switch back and forth to get the mouse to as as the trackball. Because of this, entering your initials after shots takes way too long. I'm just AAA and me using the buttons and scrolling to three letter takes a minute. But a really nice remake of a game a lot of us went broke playing. I'd spend the game price in one night of playing. Now I can play when I want to.
It's literally your favorite barcade game on Steam. It feels great to play. Hate to admit I don't have a trackball (yet), but plays fine with mouse, maybe just not as easy. Absolutely one of my favorite arcade cabinet games out there, so this is an absolute treat. Yes, I would pay $30 again for this. Online play would be amazing. Just saying.
Just a really solid emulation of some great arcade golf games.
Most def, not the best golf games !! There were some great looking arcade games in the nineties !! So what happened here ? The graphics are just not good !!! I do not like the trackball mechanic. With other golf games without using a trackball, i get way better control of where to send the ball. What is nice -- including so many versions. Also, including two bonus games. Would have been nice if a dart game was also included. I would have liked to see a modern version of this title !!! This series needs to be updated !! I played it twice so far. I am not so good with modern golf games. Second time i played this -- on the leaderboard -- 12th out of 30 !! So the game was way easier than other golf games !! Also, Like another reviewer stated, this collection is bare bones compared with lots of other golf titles !! Digital Eclipse did not do their best work with these titles !!
Perfect for my ROG Ally at work. Not super involved if I don't need to be attentive and can wait as long as I wish between shots.
