Godus and Godus Wars are both games that had great concepts but seems to be stuck in development/early access with not much progress towards a full release. Godus Wars is the PvP/Multiplayer component of the main Godus entry and as of 2021, it is completely dead. Normally I would attempt to give a real review for all my Steam games but this one just isn't worth the time. You should 100% NOT buy this game until a player base returns or development makes more progress.
Abandoned and shouldn't even be on the storefront. Absolutely disgrace.

Why Early Access? “We’re using Early Access to gather balancing feedback and gauge player reaction as we work towards a feature complete release. Early Access will allow our users and loyal Kickstarter backers to try out and provide detailed feedback in order for us to deliver a more polished, optimised and balanced game upon release! ...This is a lie. The game is dead. They never finished it and don't intend to. I had such high hopes for this and Godus, the games had so much potential. But a decade later, no one is working on it, it will never leave early access and should be removed from Steam. I genuinely loved Godus, but if anyone sees this, don't buy it, you are setting yourself up for massive disappointment when you hit the point where they left it, there is no ending, there is nothing more to do, better to not try it at all and save yourself from the inevitable disappointment when you realize how great it could have been had it not been totally abandoned. Peter Molyneux at his finest, a great idea with real potential that he completely botches and leaves dead on the side of the road. Don't put yourself through the torture of hoping that maybe just maybe it will come back one day, no it won't, just makes me sad to think about. Even today I randomly wondered if maybe by some miracle they picked it back up, but no, same old disappointment year after year.
I threw money at Peter Molyneux and 22Cans on Kickstarter with the hope that they could deliver the ultimate god game. Unfortunately, this was the result! I so wanted this to succeed, followed the regular dev updates and looked forward to the game being released, but this is such a disappointment. I can't believe they have the audacity to still sell this abandoned game on Steam.
very repetitive, they had a good idea and just never followed through with development. abandoned like the OG Godus. Buy it if it interests you for less than $2.
Long story-short: developer created decent game Godus, gave players many expectations, roadmap was huge, then he decided to split game in two halfs with 'war' aspect separated from main title and pretty much delivered nothing... Yeah, instead of actual warfare PvP full game we got very small 1 act demo against dumb AI with only 1 unit available (archer). And then dev decided to charge extra money for additional acts as DLC, that is where things went down the drain. Ammount of rage from comunity grew like crazy and instead of just delivering promises developer accused comunity in trolling and misunderstanding his words and abandoned both projects. This game is approximately 5% finished in terms of development, while Godus is 50-60% finished.
Officially abandoned, so they can hide the horrible reception from their new game.
Godus Wars is a new take on the Godus franchise from the devs from 22Cans. It can be a fun, interactive and somewhat challenging game to start out on but is easy to learn and hard to master. The only problem is that it is a very repetitive game, and tends to feel like more of a grind after some time. The levels do become harder as time goes on however due to bugs, and a lack of updates it tends to fall short after some time. Overall and ok game but not amazing, 6/10
The storied history of Peter Molyneux & 22cans continues with the delisting of Godus/Godus Wars due to impending changes to Amazon Web Services. I tested both games and they're still playable for now but you aren't missing anything.
