Piece of ♥♥♥♥ garbage game, liked it at first with all of the mapmaking options but i couldnt invite my friends due to a lot of the server/app's issues and becuase of this i just got 30 dollars stolen from this. Dont THINK ABOUT BUYING THIS AT ALL
Paid for lies! Abandoned garbage!!!
No tutorial, the official youtube channel doesn't even use the current version, the videos are low quality and impossible to follow, expects you to code to accomplish anything and is not intuitive in the slightest. Confusing, poorly built, not worth $30 price tag by any means.

While a great tool and my old Ideal for games, the dev team seems to have abandoned it. Multiplayer is now heavily bugged and ultimately unusable for anything but local play
As development has slowed down to a crawl on this, its not a very fluid program. Still, a 30 dollar price tag one man has to buy vs. a subscription everyone has to buy sounds good, and it still functional, just need the patience for the huge learning curve.
this is a trash app
It's pretty ok. It has a steep learning curve, and a lot of the interface is unintuitive, with things hidden in places and behind icons you wouldn't expect. There are tutorial videos, but a lot of it comes down to you just putting in the time to learn the nuances. You will be tempted to give up on it at the start, most probably several times. If you hang in there, then it does a lot of things well. Custom calculations and character sheet design: hooray. Local management of files? Yup, that's why I am here instead of e.g. Roll20. Persistent log of chat and rolls from session to session: pretty valuable for me. Ability to swap between characters quickly: very nice. Everyone having the ability to show cursors and move them around the map: excellent. There are some character sheets already for some common systems, and really it's not that hard to build your own custom ones... though again, that's time. The downsides, then. It can be brutally slow at times, especially when opening files. You'll be tempted to click through this, and then the program will lock up. You will be sad. (If you are sufficiently patient, it seems to always recover.) The key is to maintain two sets of tokens and tiles: have your master set elsewhere on the hard drive, and only import the ones you're going to use into GM Forge's folder. It's annoying. Map construction with custom tiles has proven very difficult; I suspect that there's some trick for this that I just haven't discovered yet. Every once in a while, one or two of my players won't see a tab or a map, but the others will. Or I'll invoke the "zoom everyone to my view" thing, but not everyone will be transported there. There are a bunch of things like that. But for the most part, it does what I want, and I consider the money well spent. We only play once a month, so I have lots of time to sort this stuff out in advance. If we were playing a couple times a week, I'd have to go with lighter software like Gametable, which doesn't have character sheet support or anything like that... it's a tradeoff. I couldn't go back to Roll20 though.
O jogo não tem mais suporte dos produtores. É excelente e eu teria todo o gosto do mundo de ficar com ele, mas trava tanto que tive que devolver
Dev surrender, so am I, never made this program work properly, buyed for the fog of war feature, I play DnD 3.5 so there is also no sheet, I wont be programing a sheet in CSS + HTML for this, no way, what I would do is play the campaing using the VTT for fog of war and the map features (snow, dark etc), the character sheets I would maintain where I run my campaing normally. Tried and dont work, conection problems, loading time, fog of war simply broken and another stuffs. Such a shame, this project deserved a lot more respect for the devs, had potential to be the number 1 VTT, now is simply a alpha VTT not even trying to be better.
Abdandonware. Just get FoundryVTT.
