Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0/day in the week to Aug 29 → 0/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
About
What's that sound coming from the basement....?
is the new fever dream of a game by Sad Mask Party, the twisted brains behind Mango and The Lotus Holidays. It is a surreal, elusive, highly immersive and just slightly distorted tale of mystery, friendship, romance, solitude, trying and failing, overcoming obstacles, and all around, love.
It is presented as a first person adventure, featuring atmospheric exploration, puzzles, some fun action sequences and fights, interactive dialogue, deconstructed psychology, dreamy psychedelia, a big variety of off-beat characters, terminally weird vibes and an equal mixture of horror(ish) and humorous elements. The graphics are PS1-inspired, but with a healthy dose of surrealism and liminality.
The story starts through a dream where you meet Glitch Daddy, a strange creature informing you about the world's end coming really, really soon. You go on to wake up, and embark on a wild journey where the truth will be revealed, through a series of weird, unexpected twists and turns.
Drenched in a thick vibe of nostalgia, Glitch Daddy seamlessly jumps from the memories of an idealized childhood, to a complicated adulthood, and the cosmic, deconstructed dreamscapes of a timeless oblivion.
Also, you get to kill monsters and pet doggos. ;)

Another absolutely stellar game from Sad Mask Party, I think the might be my favorite indie game developer, every single game from them is just absolutely gorgeous. This one really does feel like a lovely mashup of Mango and The Lotus Holidays in a way, while also still being its own thing. I laughed, I cried (one of the conversations really got me), I jumped a few times, I love it! I know I probably didn't fully understand the narrative (I'm honestly not that bright), but this still kinda hits hard at times even without full knowledge, and I know it'll stick with me.

I got the main ending and missing 7 achivements. The graphics here are extremely colorful and psychedelic with very liminal levels and fun gameplay and characters with a very amazing and silly story. Highly reccomended and very good to smoke weed to.
overall interesting and surreal game. i think i liked mango more, but thats just a preference. i loved the visuals and music here, and it is a more polished game. it actually felt like i was playing through a dream, which is impressive that this game was able to capture that only thing is i would like resolution options in the settings because i cannot see the bottom dialogue option because of my widescreen monitor, didnt ruin the game but a tad annoying : (
Nice improvements compared to the developer's previous titles, the direction is good. I hope to see his future projects becoming even better.
Dude, please make more games. I've played all of your games, they're amazing. I'll buy all of your games.
I like it. I agree with most of the reviews.
I loved it, really trippy. It's good to see that games like this exist.
Ha ha funny game becomes serious about grief and drug addiction and makes you cry in a good way
