This is a simple old school dungeon crawler. It's made completely by one person - me, who is a fan of dark fantasy games, adventures, dungeons and dragons! Gold Edition means the game is complete with all additional features and items. It also offers new in-game economy based on the gold you collect

All in all, 8/10 aguardo futuras atualizaçoes
they changed the games mechanics. Now, you're stunned for no reason. Now your swing hardly hits the enemy, there are random delays in the swing. It also seems that more dark souls stamina is used with swinging on enemy than regular swing. If the developer is trying to emulate more dark souls, this aint it. Yeah, good way to destroy game.
Best dollar I've ever spent! Maps are well made and combat is challenging and fun! Visuals are also stunning. At this price point you really can't beat the value you get out of this game.
The game has a lot of potential, but I feel it needs further development. It gets boring real fast. The combat is always the same, no matter what enemy you meet. Keep your distance, get closer, hit once, back off, retreat until your stamina recovers, repeat. The only time I died was when a boss managed to back me into a corner. And when you die, you have to replay the same level from beginning. You can always fight one enemy at a time, they never co-operate. All combat is melee. There are no decisions to make. You find one weapon and shield in every level and they are always better than the previous. Locked doors and keys sounds good, but you just end up running back and forth. When you find the key (marked on your map) you have to run back to the doors you missed. I feel the game would benefit from: * ranged combat (player and enemies, you'd need to decide who to attack first and how) * enemies that co-operate (they all attack you once you attack one, so you have to prioritize who to attack) * weapons/items that have different qualities (so you'd actually need to decide what to use, instead of just using the newest that's always best) * randomly generated weapons/items? * remove the locks/keys and/or redesign levels (I don't feel they add to the game in any way, especially when you lose all progress once you die) * item pick-up range could be slightly further (they are easy to miss) * player wouldn't pick-up (and waste) health when they are at full health
This game is cool !
Honestly, it's hard to go wrong for $3. While Ghoul Castle isn't a perfect game, it's a fun and breezy first-person dungeon crawler that you can easily get through in just a few hours. If you're in the mood for some 3D nostalgia, this game delivers that in spades. The arcade-like design is charming, and the combat has a bit of nuance, which keeps things interesting. That said, there are areas where it could improve. I do wish there were more puzzle elements to break up the action, as well as more ways or reasons to spend gold during gameplay. In fact, I didn’t realize until after finishing the game that you actually need to go to the menu to spend your gold, which feels like a missed opportunity to integrate it more naturally into the gameplay loop. Overall, if you're craving some skeleton-bashing fun without spending much, Ghoul Castle offers solid entertainment for the price. It's simple, but it scratched the right itch for me.
As trivial as this game seems to be, for some odd reason I could not get myself to stop playing it.
