Why did I buy this game?

Ghostie Quest is yet another of literally thousands of 2D retro pixel platformers infesting Steam and lowering the average quality of all video games everywhere. But wait, it's worse. This 1999 game is made in JAVA. This craptastic train wreck (awful game even for 1999) has you guiding some ghost through platformer levels with some of the worst sound design I've ever heard (I almost jabbed a spoon in my ear to stop the noise. If you're going to go through that much pain, you might as well do it to yourself. Oprah calls that "empowerment". Thanks, Lewis Black). This is a crap game even by 1999's ancient standards (for reference, in 1999 we were all playing Planescape: Torment, System Shock 2 and Homeworld). From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. A choice was made to use obsolete, decades old retro pixel "art" as a substitute for contemporary PC graphics. It's unclear if this is due to lack of budget or talent, regardless, the overall visual quality of the game is extremely low as a result. The controls can't be customised, which will be an annoyance for many, but it can also render the game unplayable for differently-abled gamers. Comically, the game was written in Java (I'm not making this up). Talk about not using the right tools for the job. Might as well try to bake a cake with a screwdriver. The extremely poor choice of game engine here is a major contributing factor to the defects with the game. These technical defects push this game below acceptable standards for any modern PC game. The poor quality of this game is reflected by how many people spent time with it. At the time of this review, SteamDB shows the all-time peak player number was only 2 players. This is a remarkably low number, and now, the only player activity occurs once or twice a month, presumably someone loading it up to see what it is then quickly uninstalling it. Considering there's over 120 million gamers on Steam and well over 50,000 games for gamers to choose from (over 9,000 completely free titles), the overwhelming lack of interest in this low quality game is to be expected. Ghostie Quest is relatively expensive for an abandonware nostalgia gouge, at $2 USD, and it's not worth it. The game is just too old, hasn't been modernised, and was crap when it was made the first time.

Thats right there is hidden gem...The gema have 100 levels,highscores, it has it all for platform lovers!When u finished level u can come back to beat u best score...This game also will be perfect for nintendo switch!
