I just finished playing this game and I got to be honest, it's a piece of ♥♥♥♥. I bought it when it only costed 0,56 euros, but that wasn't even worth the price. My expectations were very low for the story, but damn that story was even worse than I could've imagined. The animations are a mix of cartoonish and realistic, but it just didn't fit together, it looked like ♥♥♥♥. The clicking range is way off a lot of the times, sometimes it only clicks on the items when you click next to it, overall ♥♥♥♥ like the rest of the game. The puzzles where you have to find the same items, for example the cards or the duck tape ones, are way too easy, you finish those in seconds. The other puzzles were way too easy too, and trust me when I say this because I'm legally blind and normally I can't spot ♥♥♥♥. Also the story spoils itself, I still had to find out how to break the curse and all of the sudden the character you're playing as already knew how to break it, spoiling the whole thing right away. I played the game in Dutch and the translation is also way off (translated wrong, not translated at all, for example it said "find the playing cards" when I had to look for cutlery). The last thing I want to say about this piece of ♥♥♥♥ game is that I played it very relaxed and finished it under 3 hours, don't waste your money on this.
Cheesy but good HOG, the voice acting was fun and silly in parts which was nice. This was a pretty good ghost/western story mash up and the overall puzzles and hidden object scenes were very easy. The general game hints are text base which could be a little annoying at times but most of the game was easy to navigate. I appreciate that Blackjack prepared a coffin just for me using my legal name of "The Paranormal Detective". I enjoyed watching Billy get chased around the town like a Scooby Doo mystery and I am glad I found Granny's cane since I think she probably has some back pain.
Probably the worst HO game I've seen so far. Every aspect of it is either illogical or misleading or lazy or plain stupid.
Honestly really bad. The puzzles were really lazy and the hidden object scenes were frustrating since it wouldn't register the first ten times you clicked the object sometimes. The voice acting was really bad and a lot of times I questioned why they would make certain barriers for you if you had an item that would work. Most of these types of games usually get rid of whatever item you have that might solve that problem before you hit the point where you would use it alternatively. The story was pretty bland as well and it was a lot of backtracking, I kept having to go through several areas I had already completed to get to the places I needed to. And it wasn't once or twice this happened, it happened multiple instances and the game felt more like a travel simulator several times.
Unfortunately unplayable. I don't know if it's because it's an older game so it keeps stalling on my pc which is only 5 years old and a good pc or it simply just has bugs. I think when I first played this back in 2020 I believe I had the same issues but wanted to finish it so with some frustrating effort I did but playing it again it's not worth it. This will just go in my can't play because of bugs folder.

Developed and published by Anarchy Enterprises, Ghost Encounters: Deadwood – Collector's Edition delivers a traditional hidden object adventure wrapped in a supernatural mystery set against the backdrop of a desolate frontier town. Instead of relying on jump scares or intense action, the game builds suspense through investigation, exploration, and puzzle-solving. The story begins after reckless grave robbers awaken the restless spirit of the notorious outlaw Blackjack, whose violent reputation in life now extends beyond death. With the ghost determined to continue his murderous rampage, it falls upon the player to uncover the truth behind the curse and save what remains of the haunted settlement before more innocent lives are lost. The game's greatest strength lies in its atmospheric storytelling. Deadwood feels like a forgotten place frozen in time, where every abandoned building and dusty street hides another clue waiting to be discovered. As players move through abandoned saloons, eerie cemeteries, isolated cabins, and forgotten landmarks, the mystery slowly unfolds through collected evidence, environmental details, and supernatural encounters. Rather than rushing from one objective to another, the adventure encourages careful observation and rewards players who enjoy piecing together a narrative through exploration. The haunted Wild West theme also gives the game a distinctive identity, offering a refreshing alternative to the castles, mansions, and fantasy kingdoms commonly found in many hidden object adventures. Gameplay follows the familiar structure that fans of the genre have come to expect. Players search for hidden items, solve inventory-based challenges, unlock new locations, and complete a wide assortment of puzzles and mini-games. The Collector's Edition includes a generous amount of content, featuring dozens of explorable environments and numerous brain teasasers that range from pattern recognition and logical deduction to object manipulation. The variety helps maintain player interest throughout the adventure, preventing the experience from becoming overly repetitive. Progression is well-paced, with each solved puzzle opening additional areas and revealing another piece of the larger mystery. Even when certain challenges prove demanding, the sense of accomplishment after finding the solution keeps the adventure engaging. Visually, the game embraces beautifully illustrated environments that successfully capture both the loneliness of an abandoned frontier town and the unsettling presence of supernatural forces. The backgrounds are filled with intricate details that naturally support the hidden object mechanics while also enhancing the overall atmosphere. Ghostly apparitions, decaying structures, and weathered landscapes create an effective blend of horror and historical western aesthetics. Although character animations and interface elements reflect the game's age, the environmental artwork remains appealing and succeeds in drawing players deeper into its mysterious world. The sound design further strengthens the experience with eerie ambient music, subtle environmental effects, and voice performances that reinforce the game's paranormal themes. Rather than overwhelming players with constant dramatic cues, the soundtrack quietly builds tension, allowing the silence of deserted streets and abandoned buildings to become part of the storytelling. The audio complements the slow investigative pace, making every discovery feel more significant while maintaining a consistent sense of unease throughout the campaign. Despite its many strengths, Ghost Encounters: Deadwood – Collector's Edition rarely steps outside the conventions established by the hidden object genre. Veteran players will likely recognize many familiar puzzle designs and progression mechanics, while the largely linear structure leaves little room for experimentation. Some sequences can also require careful backtracking between previously visited locations, which may occasionally interrupt the pacing. However, these design choices are unlikely to disappoint players specifically looking for a classic hidden object adventure, as the game remains focused on delivering exactly the type of experience its audience expects. Overall, Ghost Encounters: Deadwood – Collector's Edition is an enjoyable supernatural adventure that successfully combines mystery, puzzle-solving, and atmospheric exploration into a cohesive package. Its compelling ghost story, memorable Wild West setting, satisfying selection of puzzles, and polished presentation make it a worthwhile choice for fans of point-and-click adventures and hidden object games. While it may not introduce groundbreaking innovations, it delivers a consistently entertaining experience that emphasizes storytelling and immersion over spectacle. Players seeking a relaxing yet engaging paranormal mystery will find plenty to appreciate throughout their journey into the haunted town of Deadwood. Rating: 6/10
