About
Inspired by games such as: Ready or Not, Ground Branch, CoD: Modern Warfare and Insurgency: Sandstorm. GERONIMO is a highly realistic, tactical and immersive CQB shooter that has been built from the ground up for Virtual Reality. Play Solo, or with your friends and carry out your operations through our missions, some even inspired by real world raids.
Whether deploying solo or with a full 6-player squad, Geronimo brings unforgiving tactical shooter gameplay into VR, where careful movement, clear communication, and calculated teamwork are essential. Train with your team in dedicated practice environments, including shooting ranges with dynamic targets and customizable killhouses built for refining your tactics before the real mission begins.
In GERONIMO, your equipment is built around how you want to operate. Shape your operator’s look, choose your clothing and armor, then fine-tune your weapons and rig with a high level of control. Position pouches where they make sense, configure your vest for the role you’re playing, and set up each weapon platform with the attachments and layout that fit your style.
Every choice has a practical impact once you’re in VR. A heavier setup can slow you down and make long engagements more demanding. Poor optic placement can make target acquisition harder. A full-length rifle may give you reach in open spaces, but become awkward when clearing tight rooms. Your loadout is not just cosmetic — it defines how you move, fight, and survive.
Every weapon is built with a focus on physical interaction, mechanical detail, and believable handling in VR. Firearms are not treated as simple props — they are systems you manipulate by hand, with actions such as manual bolt locking, magazine changes, charging, and slide operation designed to feel deliberate and responsive.
A high level of animation and interaction work supports each weapon platform, from carefully authored hand poses to moving parts that behave as expected during operation. Slides cycle with accurate barrel movement, controls are placed and handled with intention, and small details are modeled so that using a weapon feels tactile rather than abstract. The result is a gunplay system where precision, familiarity, and muscle memory matter.
Sharpen your skills outside of live missions with dedicated IPSC-style courses and a range of killhouse options built for practice, speed, and friendly competition. Run timed shooting challenges to test accuracy under pressure, compare routes with teammates, and refine the fundamentals that matter most in VR: target acquisition, weapon handling, movement, and control.
Killhouses offer a more tactical way to train, with layouts suited for room clearing, angles, communication, and close-quarters decision-making. Whether you are warming up before an operation, drilling with your squad, or competing for the fastest clean run, Geronimo gives players flexible training spaces where improvement is measurable and rivalry stays friendly.

if a couple desync bugs in multiplayer get fixed itll be perfect, plus maybe more randomised enemy spawns in the operations
Great foundation, just needs more time to bake
Geronimo has a really solid foundation and is already a lot of fun, especially considering the low Early Access price. There are definitely some rough edges, but it's easy to see the potential.
Pros

Smooth and satisfying gunplay.
Excellent weapon handling and physics. Small details like flicking empty magazines out of your rifle add a lot to the immersion.
The virtual stock system is fantastic and makes sniping feel incredibly natural.
Weapon and character customization are already very good.
Great atmosphere and visuals.
Fun both solo and with friends.
Coming from TAVR, I think Geronimo is already a very strong competitor. It captures a similarly tense atmosphere while offering better graphics and, in many areas, more realistic weapon handling. The downside is that it comes with noticeably higher PC hardware requirements.
Needs Improvement

Performance - The game is demanding, but Night Vision seems to tank performance far more than it should. I understand it's likely rendering the scene twice, but even on my RTX 4080 performance drops significantly, even on smaller maps.
Enemy AI - Currently the weakest part of the game. Enemies often just stand around waiting to be shot and don't feel very dynamic. This is Early Access, so I'm sure it'll improve over time.
Doors - Easily my biggest complaint. Door physics are extremely frustrating. They often refuse to open properly, barely crack open, clip into walls, or glitch out entirely. Either let us breach doors, allow us to physically push them with our weapons, or improve the interaction system.
Grenades - Frag grenades and stun grenades feel inconsistent. Sometimes they work perfectly, other times enemies seem completely unaffected.
Bullet Penetration - Shooting through doors also feels inconsistent. Sometimes bullets penetrate, sometimes they don't.
Attachment Compatibility - A compatibility filter or indicator would be a huge quality-of-life improvement. It can be difficult remembering which optics, rails, or attachments work with every weapon.
Loadout Presets - Please let us save complete loadouts, including chest rigs and plate carriers. If I switch to a pistol-only build, I'd love to save a vest configured for pistol magazines instead of rebuilding it every time.
Magazine Options - More magazine size options would be a welcome addition.
Audio - Overall the audio is good, but my friends and I noticed suppressed weapons sometimes sounded much louder for certain players than others. Could've been on our end, but it's worth investigating.

Things I'd Love to See

Optional friendly fire settings.
A medical/revive system.
An optional respawn mode for more casual games with friends.
Hardcore gameplay is great, but having server options would let groups play however they want.
Overall
Overall, I'm really enjoying Geronimo. The gunplay feels realistic, the atmosphere is excellent, and you can tell there's a lot of passion behind the project. It absolutely has issues, but that's expected in Early Access, and at this price it's honestly hard to complain too much. If the developers continue improving the AI, optimize performance, and fix the door interactions, I genuinely think this could become one of the best tactical VR shooters available. The foundation is already there—it just needs more time in the oven.
best vr mil sim
This just might be the best VR shooter I have ever played. I've played TAVR, Contractors, Into The Radius 1 and 2, H3VR, Pavlov, and many others, and aside from H3, none come close to Geronimo. The kit and weapon customization is insanely in depth, especially for a vr game, the AI isn't super crazy, but it's better than some other games I've played, and the guns are so satisfying to use, nothing out there as of right now can compare in terms of firearms. Even though it's early access, it still has a fair amount of missions, some with different modes like HR or T hunt, and the door breaching mechanics are wonderful (I especially love how the did the breaching charges). Currently there are still some bugs, but from what I've found none are game breaking, and the devs are working on them whilst actively listening to the community.
Dude geronimo is awesome being coming to early access, i think Geronimo is the best vr shooter. Runs good when playing on quest 3 Meta link cable steam vr ryzen 7 2700 x 32 gigs memory 4070 TI with setting on high shadows medium. Loving it so far with optimizations more content coming in the future Looking forward to this game and it is worth every bit of 18 dollars buy it u wont regret it.
So far I haven't experienced any of the major bugs others have. It's a little rough around the edges but I'm excited to see where the developers take it. For the love of god, please do not pull a Dante with Onward and sell out - keep the pure tactical vibes flowing throughout development! ETA: I'm using the Quest 3.
solid game AI are a work in progress but overall it is really fun
IS GERONIMO GOOD/FUN?
Yes! I've seen a lot of people say its buggy or broken at points, or maybe graphical issues but me personally I haven't noticed them at all. Obviously the game is going to be buggy which me personally is fine, the game just released and the devs are still hard at work patching and making updates with aditions to the game. Should you buy it? I would go for it, I've had a ton of fun just playing solo and I'd imagine its better with friends. One thing I will say is that I hope new things get added to the game soon either it be Customimzation, Weapons, ETC for replayablity purposes.
This game's weapon customization and character customization is very in depth and fun. But as of right now it doesn't have a lot of content so I would recommend waiting 6 months to a year before purchasing this game. But, if you don't mind the game's lack of content and you think you'll have fun, then get it! Also if you like TAVR or just tactical shooters in general then I think you will love this game!
Ready or Not hat damals in seiner Alpha-Phase ganz ähnlich (und holprig) angefangen.
