A little background: I have been an active and dedicated player of the 6dof game DESCENT since it came out in the 90s. I still play competitively in the 1 v 1 Descent community on the DCL (Descent Champsions Ladder) http://www.descentchampions.org I have had the fortune of being able to watch this game progress from it's infancy on in to it's current state and I will tell you this. The guy making this game is a gaming pilot from the Descent days and still plays. I think that's a critical component to making a solid 6dof game. He understands what made Descent so attractive to the competitive community and to the casual FFA players and is successfully translating that into his game. The programmer listens and asks for feedback. He is continuously improving this game and it is clearly moving in the right direction. His attention to detail is borderline OCD and it's paying dividends. I think it's important to know that this game isn't 'done'. This game is evolving and maturing on the daily. For those that know me....they know I say what is on my mind and I don't pull any punches. I have been critical of certain aspects of this game and the programmer took my advice and worked hard to incorporate my ideas for improvement and persisted until he succeeded. I appreciate the effort and can't imagine the amount of work that he's putting into this thing to give us a finished product that will be enjoyable for years to come. If you haven't tried this game out yet and you appreciate 6dof games....give it a try. Feel free to give feedback knowing that it will be considered seriously. The game is gorgeous and the flight characteristics are spot on. The physics are great. This game is getting better with each update and it's worth the price of admission.

Initially supposed to support VR: VR support gone faster than you could say "fail". Subsequently abandoned in its entirety.
Dedicated developer made a bad ass game that I feel is going to be the closest of all the new school aspirants to the original descent. Cool weapons, innovative features (laser sights = badass) and a creepy HR Giger'ish feel pervades the whole of single player. MP is a blast! The game isn't done done but it's promising as ♥♥♥♥, well worth supporting, esp if you have any love for original Descent.
Mouse movement is to slow ! play descent and you see how to play a game like this! please increase mouse movement! great under oculus rift dk2 !
The game seems to function as intended. But, as of this review, the early access quality really shows. Booting into single player has very little direction for new players, while the mechanics are true to classic Descent and the graphics are passable for an indie title, there is a lot to be desired I find. This is not helped by the multiplayer oriented loop, which requires an active playerbase.
This game is Awsome. There are some understandible glitches but over all its awsome for a game that was made by a single person.
This is a still somewhat limited descent clone. It shows promise... ONCE you discover that the game is more that that opening where it seems it is an endless loop of random ships being thrown at you on a barren landscape. After a lot of initial frustration I finally got myself into the route. it gave me one hour or so of entertainment, so I think it was worthy the invested money (R$ 6?)... Suggestion to the dev: 1) provide a compass; 2) provide some mapping, or better visual hints of where we are supposed to go and what must be done. 3) to travel that maze without proper maps (like descent) is very difficult, specially with random spawns (that is the case, right?) ... I understand maps are difficult... but what about breadcrumbs? (some markers we can simply shoot from the ship, they stick somewhere, and have them at the HUD, pointing where they are, for example)...
This game has been on early access for quite some time but from what I understand, this is all done from a one-man development? so far it looks great. the Player ship moves just about perfect from the original Descent games. I will say though, the enemies need to be more noticeable, like those smaller ones for instance. Maybe later on, some variety of maps that don't use the same textures but hey, what do I know?
Very nice game
