Genesia Legacy: Ultimate Domain

A very original game ! I didn't find a style close to this Genesia Legacy. You build your city, from nothing, in a pure natural landscape. And nature is not so friendly! You have to assign farmers, woodcutters, gather water, in order to survive, and grow. You have also research trees to evolve, and, for example, resist to diseases, build vehicles, trade, ... But, the game is difficult, in the sense of "punitive" : you make a strategic mistake, and your village will die from disease, or starve in winter, etc... So, the idea is : you won't win on your first try. Make a game, learn why you failed. Restart, and integrate you experience in your next play. Just like an action-platform game, you can lose, but applied to a pure strategic game : this is unique at this level of "punishment". And where the game succeeds : it is great fun. It is really great fun to fail because of a strategic mistake we missed. And try again. There is no frustration, and for me, that means it is indeed a very good game. Completely different from Civilization, in every way (so, it is something new, and not a clone). I HIGHLY advice this game. You won't find another one similar.

I'm very happy with this reimagined version of Genesia because that's exactly what it is. It's Genesia from 1993 given enough updates to make it fresh but not too many to turn it into something else. Plus points... No egg timer. Turns last as long as you need which is crucial because.... The world is hard. Forget wishing for the enemy AI. The world itself isn't easy to thrive in. There's a lot to balance. Environment, food, water, exploration, expansion and scraping together some kind of economy by making settlers work hard and varied tasks. The pace is also much slower than the original. Expect to develop slowly and under constant threat of collapse. Combat is nice and simple too. Cons... none 😀 While I look forward to the updates post early access I'm in no hurry. This is a really good early access game.

It takes a while to learn and get used to all the rules, which may be frustrating during the first few hours, but after overcoming that learning step (trial and error, similar to Banished), Genesia Legacy is fun and original. This early access is stable and new features are added quite frequently. Really looking forward to seeing the next updates.

MENU glitched out on me. These is no help to be had, game is abandoned. Company email is a Gmail account.... yeah ... its nice if you played the original, however this remake is not done and I guess never will be. NOT WORTH 20 BUCKS NOT WORTH IT AT ALL!!! SHOULD BE $1 retro game that never got finished. It is STILLLLLLLLLLLLLLL IN EARLY ACCESS. 2017-2024, IT IS STILL EARLY ACCESS. No updates this version of the game will never release.

More than 3 months without any update. The game is not playable at this current state. I loved the old Genesia and this one has huge potential. My expectations were high but now i need to say i'm completly disapointed...

I believed in the good faith of the original creator, and bought it at its early announcement. I was wrong. The game is abandonned now and in a unfinished state. The typical example of an early access scam. A real shame to the name Genesia. Won't ever play another game from this developper.
