"GemCrusty" surprised me in that I really though it was a mobile app. It looks like they just launched a mobile app in the wrong place again. This primitive 2D Flash-like "miner" game involves spamming a lot of buttons to "mine" which lets you have conversations with the developers waifu. The game features really lacklustre 2D visuals (does the developer not know 3D graphics became mainstream in the mid-1990s?). Gamers don't spend thousands of dollars on gaming rigs to pretend they're mobile phones or Commodore 64s. This is only free in a rudimentary sense... the developer has their hand out for a $10 USD "donation" for this as you're expected to buy some extra artbook DLC from Steam... digital panhandling. Like the homeless guys who splash dirty water on your windscreen at the traffic lights. No thanks. Even though this is "free", it failed to appeal to the 120 million+ gamers on Steam. SteamDB showed the game peaked at just a dozen or so concurrent players, and now there's basically nobody playing it. Even though it's free. This is a dismal public reception, but it's easy to see why gamers rejected it. Bearing in mind that free games don't add +1 to your game collector count, should you bother adding this to your library and downloading it? Not this time. This isn't worth downloading. While this won't cost you any money, you get what you pay for, and sometimes, even when the game is free, it's still not enough.
GemCrusty is a phenomenal little game! Very polished and addictive, with great game loop. The characters are lovely. How is this game free.
I'm not usually pick a free game on Steam to play, my expectation were low but this made me instantly throw 70 mins of my Friday night, =[]= ah my precious Friday night.
