Got this as part of a bundle with dark scrolls and gunbrella. The former two were disappointments but this was actually a very good time. Incredibly short little metroidvania that is very satisfying to crunch through in a day or two. There are some annoying parts. I agree with other reviewers about 1 or 2 bosses being way more frustrating than the rest of the game (looking at you heater core) but the rest is a very nice well paced romp that packs a lot of variety for its 2-4 hour campaign. My only major gripe is the game's save system is unnecessarily minimalist. You save after every collectable and certain combat encounters which is good but it makes backtracking and finding secrets very annoying for the sections of the map where save points aren't as plentiful. It seems like the dev was very much aware of this as the vent area in which you are playing without the mech suit the majority of the time and can die in one hit has save points much closer to each other than other areas. The insult to injury about this system though is if you were hoping to get all the upgrades you have to do it before the final boss. You cannot beat the gane and go back. Your save is permanently stuck at the end. The game does warn you but most games in my experience with this sort of lockout system at least give you a save right before the final boss. This one does not. I still recommend it though. 8$ might feel a Lil high for the playtime I mentioned but this will probably be the most enjoyable 2-4 hours in your gaming career. The aesthetic and mechanics are incredibly strong and will keep you playing.
miauuu
A fun short metroidvania time
Mice are my mortal enemies now
Fantastic snackable metroidvania. I beat it in one sitting and loved every bit of it. Sure it doesn’t break new ground in the genre, but it’s a loving homage to Metroid and Blaster Master that’s super polished and fun, like snorting a line of finely ground dopamine and nostalgia. The art style works, getting out of the way and letting me focus on the gameplay. Little vehicle sections are great, boss battles are sweet, exploration is rewarding, it’s got it all in a bite sized package. Eat it.
short little neat game, took 2-3 hours to complete it. will 100% it probably the game is kinda like metroid, loved the exploration, the story is cool too. i think it's perfect as it is. not much to say about it, but i quite enjoyed it!
RIP 👑 Dave. At least the Knicks got one for ya.
A ok game, good if U have no other good games to play but overall a bit sad, could have been better
