I was excited for a sequel to a game I often play with the kids. That excitement died as soon as I fired it up. The visuals are jarring and the gameplay feels fake. It's like you're not even driving the car. It just floats around on the screen and seems to drive itself with little to no input required. The aesthetics don't make any sense either. They've crammed a bunch of neon in with comic art. It's washed out and zoomed in and you can't adjust it. It looks like they're trying to copy Nickelodeon Kart Racers but they're doing a poor job of it. It's just not good. This is only the third time I've requested a refund for a game. I can't support this mess at $15 on sale. It's not even remotely worth it

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Listen, this actually plays pretty decently. If you’ve played Mario Kart 8 this is very similar, and if you’re gonna take inspiration from anything, you could pick a lot worse. Heck, I’d put this above a lot of other licensed kart racers in general. (Anyone saying the original Garfield Kart is better is nuts) The general gameplay is really the only good thing about it, though. 12 tracks with 3 uninspired themes, 8 characters, two speed classes and a mirror mode, as well as time trials and a dead online mode is all you get. You also get some kart customisation but karts still all look the same and it’s not even clear how you unlock more parts anyway, since the game explains absolutely nothing about itself at any point in time. The soundtrack is also pretty awful, and I don’t care for the retrowave TV aesthetic with the ramps and trackside indicators - it makes the game look kind of unfinished. I’m not saying you need the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Booster Course Pass for the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe game levels of content to be a kart racer worth playing these days, but there’s too little here to recommend it as either a single player or multiplayer title.
I would rather by Sonic Racing Crossworlds infinite more times than play this game for even more than one nanosecond of my time on this planet.

Mechanics are very polished. I've been playing kart games (e.g. Mario Kart 8) for many many years. I can safely say that this is the best kart game you'll find on the Steam library. The game is so polished that there's only two things I'd change for its mechanics: - The time window to hit jump anda gain mini-turbos in ramps is too small (almost frame perfect). I'd increase this window a bit (and then only allow 1 chance for the player to hit it per ramp). Even Mario Kart is more forgiving in this window. - The time window to use another item once you use an item is too big. I have to mentally count in my head to know if I can already try to use the second item. This “mental counting” that I have to do is too distracting and takes away my focus on the race (specially important during frantic moments). The current tracks show how much potential the game designers behind possess right now. However there are too few tracks. If enough time and budget is given to the game designers behind the current tracks, they should be able to come up with some of the best racing tracks that I expect to see. Maybe DLCs would be a way forward to expand the game content. Unfortunately I haven't been able to face anyone in online matches. I never encounter people to play online. The online competition seems dead to me which is a shame.
Really good for what it is, but needs more maps! must add for couch setup!
I was hoping this game would simply work on my computer so I can experience this game as an improvement to the Garfield Kart series that I've enjoyed previously. Unfortunately it doesn't seem to launch on my machine, and I'm too late to refund it. I blame the Epic Games launcher. EDIT: I received another machine for XMas that can run Windows 11 and... nope, it still runs badly. I can't believe that even after I put all the graphical options to low that the FLOOR visuals don't load.
