As a huge fan of Garfield, I was incredibly excited for a sequel to my favorite racing game. But unfortunately, this game does not deliver the same whimsy and fun that I had enjoyed with Garfield Kart: Furious Racing. Compared to Garfield Kart: Furious Racing, this sequel is truly a downgrade in nearly every conceivable way. This game is a genuinely harrowing experience that I would recommend to no one. The only real addition to the game is the ability to do tricks but that's offset by how depressing everything else is. The only reason to buy this game is so you can use the Points Shop items on your profile.
This game can not, will not, and should not live up to a fraction of a degree that is Furious Racing.
For years, Garfield has been my guiding light and personal saviour. My favorite food is lsaga. Naturally, my first instinct was to buy GK2 as soon as it was on discount. What can I say? It is an incredible game and easily outclasses Mario Kart 8, just for the fact that you can play as Garfiled and most importantly: Jon Arbuckle. A man teeming with personality and secretly the real star of the show. Now for the review: GK2 starts off very well, with very nice and buttery smooth graphics. Gameplay is alright and the drifting mechanics are decent. Nothing you haven't seen in other kart racers. The longer you drift, the better your boost will be. Controls are extremely simple and intuitive. A is for acceleration (on Switch or Xbox controllers). Right shoulder button or trigger is for drifting. Left shoulder button or trigger for items. The items are a carbon copy of Mario Kart items. Shells are cat food bowls, banana peels are bar soaps and mushrooms are lasagnas. The music ranges from "utterly forgettable" to "how is it this good in a garfield fun racer?" Seriously, the whole range is here. Awful, mediocre and really nice tunes. But most are mediocre. Which brings me to the rest of the content... There is barely any content! This game features three cups. Three! You can finish them in less than an hour of gameplay. Each cup comes with 4 race tracks. Sounds okay at first. Until you play the cups and realize, that the race tracks basically all look the same (per cup). Let me try to explain in more detail: Every cup features only cup-themed race tracks. The first cup has only city-type racetracks. The second cup: pirates. The third cup: wild west. Once again, the game starts off on a very strong note in the first cup, featuring a nice variety in the race track design. Even though all four race tracks are taking place in a city environment, they feature enough variety to keep it fresh. The first track is around a harbor. The second inside a city with traffic during sunset. The third: more city but at night with neon signs everywhere (looks very nice) and the fourth is in a city above the clouds. Freaking awesome! When you start the second cup, however, GK2 takes a nosedive into endless mediocrity. The second and especially the third cup are as mediocre, boring and uninspired as it could possibly get. The second cup features four pirate-themed racetracks. You know: pirate ships, pirate-style music, beaches, palm trees. The variety is still kind of there, but much less interesting than the first cup. The third and last cup features only wild-west style race tracks. And they basically all look the same. Completely and utterly forgettable. The most boring racetracks ever with the same graphics throughout all four racetracks, boring music and awful racetrack design. And that's the entire game: city, pirates and wild west. It feels like: after creating the maps for the first cup the devs realized they only have two weeks left to finish developing the rest of the game. Other than that, expect the same atrocities you're used to from other kart racers like getting shelled right before the finish line, falling back from first place to 6th place for example (which happens rather often in this game for some reason). Winning a race primarily depends on luck. By the way: The AI opponents are extremely dumb. During my first hour of gameplay, I witnessed them twice being stuck in some tiny obstacle for the rest of the race, constantly bumping against it. They are just following fixed paths. It's a very generic, standard fare racer with characters from the garfield universe and nothing more. The joy of playing as Garfiled and Jon Arbucke. Only buy if you are secretly worshipping Garflied (like me).
im a chud im a chud im a fat little chud
It is truly a marvel that Microids got rid of almost all of the features of the first two games, then replaced all but the worst of them with bad Mario Kart clones and created this abomination. Edit: I 100%ed this game and I cannot NOT reccomend this game enough. None of the achievements award any kind of skill, they require a strange luck of circumstances, except for the 150cc time trials, where for half of them, not only did I have to drive technically great, I had to genuinely look up speedruns and learn skips.
Guys please, Jim Davis NEEDS that royalty check
I am Garfield and I think this game would be the best game ever if they add more tracks, make online multiplayer have CPUs to fill in online lobbies (guys too many of us are eating Italian cuisine and sleeping so multiplayer with real people is gonna be almost impossible without some big hotshot advertising mixed with a good sale, what a total Monday), and more characters like from the newest movie or some other obscure characters from the comics, also no harry made me sad :( So please Eden Games help me get some more good grub
This is, indeed, a game of all time
this game genuinely, GENUINELY, pisses me off. i am something of a garfield kart purist. i enjoyed garfield kart: furious racing, and i respect the original garfield kart. but...this? THIS? REALLY? i cannot BELIEVE the game studio which developed the heaven sent experience which was furious racing has decided to TARNISH the legacy of the brand by releasing this absolute hellstorm of a game. i cannot express my frustrations enough. this game gave me super cancer. if youre thinking of purchasing this game, i advise against it highly. just purchase furious facing, the OBJECTIVELY BETTER garfield themed kart racing experience.
If there is one injustice in modern gaming history—one cosmic imbalance that will be studied by scholars, monks, and overly caffeinated YouTube essayists for decades—it is this: Garfield Kart 2: All You Can Drift was not crowned Game of the Year. Because make no mistake, this is not merely a sequel. This is not merely a kart racer. This is not merely a game. This is a cultural correction, a philosophical statement, and quite possibly the greatest digital achievement since humans figured out how to jump in Mario. From the moment the game boots up, Garfield Kart 2 announces itself with confidence bordering on divine arrogance. This is a title that knows exactly what it is and refuses to apologize for it. It doesn’t ask if you’re ready—it assumes you are, because if you’ve chosen to play this game, you have already ascended beyond doubt. Let’s address the lasagna-shaped elephant in the room: the first Garfield Kart. It was charming. It was goofy. It was… rough. But Garfield Kart 2 looks at its predecessor the way a fully realized superhero looks at their awkward origin story. The original game walked so All You Can Drift could power-slide through reality itself. This sequel doesn’t just improve mechanics—it understands them. It takes the concept of kart racing and refines it until it becomes pure, distilled joy. Every corner dares you to drift harder. Every straightaway feels like a brief, calm moment before your next glorious sideways commitment. Let’s be clear: Garfield Kart 2: All You Can Drift had no business being this good—and yet it is. In a year filled with bloated open worlds, self-serious narratives, and games that confuse “long” with “meaningful,” Garfield Kart 2 shows up, drifts aggressively around them, and honks as it passes. It is fun without shame. It is refined without losing silliness. It improves meaningfully on its predecessor in every way. This is what sequels are supposed to be. This is what kart racers should aspire to. This is what should’ve been Game of the Year. 10/10. Lasagna-fueled perfection. Drift forever.
