An amazing precision bullet hell platformer. Very reminiscent of something like Super Mario World, secret exits and branching paths in every world. Finding all the collectables was reasonable and fun, levels were short enough that if you missed anything you could run back through it, and it never once felt like unnecessary padding. Every obstacle/challenge felt unique and wacky gimmicks never felt like they overstayed their welcome (except the smiling face that chases you that guy sucks). A must play if you're into challenging platformers!

Great 2D platformer. Gives big SMW, SMB3, and Megaman vibes. Loved every moment of it pretty much! Highly recommend, whether on sale or at full price, as it's the perfect length and left me very content and satisfied!

I don't normally make serious reviews, but a hidden gem like this deserves one Garbanzo Quest is without a doubt one of, if not the best indie platformer I have ever played. It's about an adorable little bean fella who defeats enemies with the power of weaponized spit setting off on a quest to save the world and many funny characters from the greedy grip of Billi Bones. The gameplay is a fine mixture of precision platforming and bullet hell elements, which allows for some really fun and well-designed levels that keep you on your toes. Each level will typically contain a hidden item that could either be used to customize your character or gain a new ability (such as a bark that deals heavy damage to enemies close to you or an airhorn that clears every bullet on screen), or a key that paves the way to a hidden branching path on the map. As you progress through the game, a variety of new mechanics will be introduced to keep things fresh, such as relentless smiley faces that will hunt you down until the next room, barricades that will only disappear once you've shot a bunch of targets scattered around the room, or cat and dog switches that activate temporary paths for you before deactivating if the switches aren't hit again in time. I think this game is a super charming experience that offers a great challenge, and it also feels very rewarding to play to completion. The game isn't super duper long, only taking around 15-20 hours to fully complete (ignore the fact that Steam says I've only played for 2 hours, my hours were being counted wrong and it's more like 16 or so), but it still absolutely delivers in that timespan, especially considering the fact that only one guy worked on it. PLEASE give this game a shot, you won't be disappointed and I'm sure of it :D
