"ユニバース・リズムシューティング" or "Universe Rhythm Shooting" is a Japanese student project that once more tries to turn an arcade shooting game into Dance Dance Revolution. It's amazing how often it happens when a developer has no ideas whatsoever for making a game so they just try to shoehorn Dance Dance Revolution QTE/reflex stuff into a different game format that doesn't need it. It just makes for another crap game nobody wants to play. Don't believe me? I'm not making it up. Check the player counts below. What do you do in the game? Wave your arms around in VR to hit the things in time with the beat. Or don't. There's no English translation for the game, but that's okay. The language of bad games is universal. The graphics aren't great, low quality low poly spheres and things... very little in the way of graphics at all. That's understandably a turn off for a lot of gamers, and it's a big contributor to the failure of the game to attract gamers despite having no up-front cost. Gaming is a primarily visual medium, and if developers want to succeed, they must understand that it's not an area for compromise. You deserve better than compromises. It's VR exclusive, and that shows the developer failed to understand the most basic axiom of VR game design... if the only cool thing about your product is VR support, your product is not cool. This is "free" enough, at least you won't be expected to spend any more money after you download this, but just because something is free doesn't mean it's good. Despite having no up-front cost, this failed to appeal to the 120 million+ gamers on Steam. SteamDB showed the game peaked at only 2 concurrent players... this is a dismal public reception. This was so bad they couldn't even give it away. Bearing in mind that free games don't add +1 to your game collector count, should you bother adding this to your library and downloading it? Not this time. This isn't worth downloading. While this won't cost you any money, you get what you pay for, and sometimes, even when the game is free, it's still not enough.
