DO NOT BUY THIS GAME UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES!!! TopGame decompiled the game G WARRIOR (authored by LKK), changed some graphics, added soundtracks from other licensed games (for example, the first level track from the game Shadow Of The Ninja / KAGE, created by Natsume) and posted it on Steam (how could the quality control department allow a stolen project to appear in the store?!)! As the author of the translation of the original game into two languages (Russian and English), I will give several examples of how this game is stolen: 1. TopGame guessed to cut out the cooperative mode for two players, but he did it so crookedly that I was able to activate the second player + the author did not turn on his brain and did not think that the line "1 player" had to be rewritten to "Start" in all language packs (because of which the Russian text in the game creates dissonance); 2. The opening scene was cut, but the game's resources contain graphic files related to this scene from G WARRIOR (including promotional materials and, attention, the LKK LOGO!); 3. The entire core code of the game is completely identical to the code of the original game version 1.0. IF YOU WANT TO GIVE A REAL CONTRAGASM, BUY G WARRIOR HERE: https://steamcommunity.com/app/2710290 I hope that everyone who reads this review will send reports asking to remove this product!
Alright. This is a topic I normally reserve specifically for my own curator, but I received this license via our IndieGems Curator program, in this instance, which I claimed so I could take a look and compare this game with: https://store.steampowered.com/app/2710290/G_WARRIOR/. I will be posting the curation for this to my personal curator but crediting both curators below. This game appears to be a one for one direct theft of G_WARRIOR. As Ocular Malice points out here: https://steamcommunity.com/app/2710290/discussions/0/603026769788809456/#c603026769788844006 There's not even really an attempt to hide it outside of some basic reskins based on my own observations. I'm actually kind of amazed that this developer didn't think anybody would notice, and pretty appalled at yet another example of Valve doing nothing in the way of QA as long as they get that $100 price of entry from a developer. Do not buy this. And that goes for those of you collectors out there who exhibit zero morality on the regular. Don't buy it. It seems you'd just be rewarding a thief for being a thief for the sake of some extra e-peen. Which you could just buy an extender for and hope for the best, lol.

Galactic Vanguard is a compact yet energetic sci-fi action shooter that clearly sets out to celebrate the legacy of classic side-scrolling run-and-gun games while carving out a modest identity of its own. Developed and published by **Galactic Vanguard** studio **TopGame**, the game immediately establishes its tone through bold pixel art, explosive combat, and an unapologetically retro presentation. From the moment play begins, it becomes apparent that the focus is squarely on momentum and reflex-driven action, with levels designed to keep players constantly moving forward under a barrage of enemies, projectiles, and environmental threats. The visual style leans heavily into bright colors and chunky sprites, creating readable combat spaces even when the screen fills with chaos, and it successfully captures the feel of arcade-era shooters without feeling like a simple imitation. The gameplay centers on straightforward but satisfying run-and-gun mechanics that emphasize precision, positioning, and smart weapon use. Players control a heavily armed space warrior tasked with pushing through hostile alien worlds, blasting through waves of enemies that attack from multiple angles. Shooting feels responsive, and enemy behavior is tuned to keep pressure on the player without becoming overwhelming early on. As the campaign progresses, enemy patterns grow more aggressive and varied, forcing players to react quickly and prioritize threats in real time. The moment-to-moment action is fast and punchy, with a strong sense of rhythm as players dash, jump, and fire in constant motion, making each stage feel like a condensed burst of adrenaline rather than a drawn-out slog. Weapon variety is one of Galactic Vanguard’s most engaging features, providing meaningful changes to how encounters unfold. Different firearms offer distinct firing patterns, damage types, and tactical uses, encouraging experimentation rather than reliance on a single dominant option. Some weapons excel at crowd control, while others reward careful aim or positioning, and swapping between them mid-combat can dramatically change the flow of a fight. This variety becomes especially important during boss encounters, which serve as the game’s most memorable highlights. Bosses are visually imposing and mechanically demanding, often filling the screen with attacks that require careful movement and pattern recognition. These encounters test everything the player has learned so far and deliver a strong sense of accomplishment once overcome, reinforcing the game’s old-school roots. Despite its retro leanings, Galactic Vanguard does a commendable job of remaining approachable. Difficulty ramps up gradually, allowing players time to adjust to new mechanics and enemy types before pushing them harder. While the game can be challenging, especially for those unfamiliar with classic shooters, it rarely feels unfair, as success depends more on player improvement than random chance. Levels are concise but densely packed with action, which helps maintain a brisk pace and makes repeat attempts feel manageable rather than exhausting. This structure lends itself well to short play sessions while still offering enough depth to reward players who want to master its systems. Presentation plays a crucial role in maintaining immersion, and here the game delivers a cohesive audiovisual experience. The pixel art environments are varied and expressive, shifting between different planetary settings that help keep the campaign visually fresh. Explosions, enemy deaths, and weapon effects are punchy and satisfying, reinforcing the game’s emphasis on kinetic action. The soundtrack complements the gameplay with energetic, sci-fi-inspired tracks that heighten tension during combat and boss fights, while sound effects provide clear feedback that makes every hit and dodge feel impactful. Together, these elements create a polished atmosphere that enhances the overall sense of intensity. Overall, Galactic Vanguard succeeds as a focused, no-nonsense action shooter that understands its strengths and delivers on them confidently. It doesn’t attempt to reinvent the genre, but instead refines familiar ideas with solid execution, responsive controls, and a strong sense of pacing. For players who enjoy classic run-and-gun experiences, or those looking for a tightly designed indie shooter that respects retro traditions while remaining accessible, Galactic Vanguard offers a rewarding and consistently engaging experience. It stands as a clear example of how a small-scale project can still deliver memorable action when its design priorities are sharp and its mechanics well considered. Rating: 6/10
