For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.

About
Galactic Plague 2000 is a shoot 'em up that blends classic arcade gameplay with modern roguelite elements. Experience the action your way with two distinct visual modes:
Retro Mode – A love letter to the old-school era, featuring filters and effects that recreate the iconic arcade aesthetics of the '80s.
Normal Mode – A crisp, filter-free presentation for those who prefer a more modern look.
In Story Mode, you take on the role of Jack, a young boy who stumbles upon a mysterious arcade machine in an abandoned game center—only to be pulled into an intergalactic war. To save the galaxy, he must pilot a powerful starfighter and recover the nine magic cubes stolen by the invading Martians.
Each playthrough is a high-stakes challenge where you'll upgrade your ship, unlock legendary weapons, and battle relentless enemies across nine unique worlds. Can you stop the plague before it's too late?
Story Mode – Conquer nine worlds, each with 14 action-packed stages and an epic boss fight at the end.

Arcade Mode (Extreme Survival): Test your skills in the ultimate challenge and compete to be the best player in the world on the global leaderboards.
Upgrade and achievement system to enhance your ship and skills.

Over 30 types of enemies and more than 20 final bosses will test your skills. Choose the ship that best suits your needs and prepare for battle; each one has a special ability and a weapon unique to it.

Different weapon configurations with 9 weapons and 10 special abilities.

It also features 6 extra challenges, which are unlocked as you progress through the game. Each challenge has 14 levels plus the final enemies.

I really enjoyed this shmup much more than I thought I would. Dev listens to feedback and has been improving it since launch too. It plays a lot like Galaga except this game is much better because you can get upgrades to your ship and combine what you want to match your play-style. Graphics are colorful and music is pretty good too. There's 9 worlds with dozens of levels and a boss at the end of each world. You earn XP points for every kill which you use to get permanent upgrades. I think that would classify this as rogue-lite. Theres also survival mode (endless) for extra challenge. Leaderboards are included as well as retro mode with optional CRT curve and scanlines, or you can turn these off for a more crisp, clean presentation. I usually always go for the crisp presentation but this game i turned the scanline effect on as it looks really nice in my opinion. Steam achievements are done really well and there's a lot of them which is great too. Dev has been adding many QOL features and extra touches here and there that has improved the game a lot which i think should get more sales and attention. If you enjoy shmups please give this game a shot, its pretty good!!

first of all my apologies for reviewing this game very lately considering I bought it when it has been released. I wanted to be able to play it more before reviewing it. the graphics are great, with very beautiful colors. music and sound are excellent as well. I like the gameplay very much, the game is very fun to play! It's been made with so much care. I don't play indie game very often, thinking there are new games I like, and tons of classic ones as well. It's especially true for shoot them up games, which is a kind of games I love since the late 80s. I enjoy this game very much, and will keep playing it. I strongly recommend it!
Great Game! Pure nostalgia with a fresh twist! I remember playing The Galactic Plague on my Amstrad, and this really feels like a modern evolution. The progression and ship upgrades are super satisfying, and there are tons of weapons to customize your ship.
I think it's a great game. I still have a lot to explore, but I'm glad I was invited to try it out. I think they've put a lot of content into it, and it offers hours of fun. It's worth buying the game when it's on sale. I don't think the price is excessive for the content it offers. I really like the survival mode. I think I'll have to upgrade my ship before I can try to get a good score and be among the top players.
It is a great game, it starts very slowly with a simplicity and ease in the enemies, but gradually adds difficulty to the game. You progressively improve your ship and there are times when you need a lot of patience and expertise to overcome all the maps. Possibly, it is not a game made for all the general public, but it breaks that established aesthetic of always playing the same prototypes of games that are on Steam. It is not a very long adventure so that it does not become heavy, but not short either so that you do not stay with the desire to see more of the game. It is true that it could improve many artistic aspects of the game, but if you're not one of those people who judge something by only its exterior, inside there is a good game to have a good time and enjoy with a friend or a son and destroy every bug that crosses in front.
