Frog Detective 1: The Haunted Island

Not really a game where you actually 'solve' anything, but an amusing time

[i]Many years ago, I stumbled upon this game on Twitter by chance, but I'm glad I did[/i] [h1]Frog Detective 1: The Haunted Island is a short, cozy detective game to relax with. Set in a unique and heartfelt universe.[/h1] This game has been an experience and I played the game to the end (and beyond). I can best describe it as a first person point and click detective game. Although I'm certain the supervisor would have a better term for it. A Hat in Time pops to my mind, but on a budget and the humour has a hint of Monkey Island, or maybe not. The game is obviously made with love and care. Frog Detective is set in a vibrant universe, where a frog detective, in lieu of the lobster cop is sent on a critical mission by the supervisor. Suffice to say, the detective arrives on a remote island to solve a mystery. The game takes place in the wake of the first succesful job, of which you can get a hint on the wall of his detective office. But don't take my word for it. The music accompanies the atmosphere of the game in an excellent fashion and helps you feel like a true detective! The gameplay is solid and the mouse controls can be adjusted to your liking. I didn't like it, so I changed it. Then I didn't like that, so I changed it back. Now I like it. The dialogue in the game is well written and captures the essence of the characters, making for a believable story, that I found myself dragged into. A cool, quality-of-life feature is the 'select scene', that allows you to drop into the game whereever you want to start playing from. I never used it, except for once. The first playthrough was a delight and the subsequent runs I attempted to speed run. On my best speed run I made a mistake of going straight for the magnet. A rookie mistake. And I ended up with a time of 15:11. I reckon I could shave off a handful of seconds. On the technical side, the game runs smoothly on my PC and I didn't experience any frame rate drops. So far. Frog Detective is the g̶r̶e̶a̶t̶e̶s̶t̶ second greatest detective on the force, but even he is tried when a haunted island gets spooky. This game is utterly ridiculous in the best way. It looks like it was made with MS-Paint, but in a charming way. The dialogue goes so far into absurd it becomes quotable. A simple game, but one I loved.

INCREDIBLY short and simple video game. But that isn't like a bad thing it's just cute. its five bucks bro who even cares. buying the bundle is the best choice
