Cannot recommend this game enough! I'm not often a fan of rhythm games as I'm almost never able to enter a flow state and focus almost entirely on the music, but here it feels almost instinctive. The level design is spectacular, and the music is killer. Everything from synth-y house/pop to Mongolian throat-singing metal. Also, don't expect most roguelites like this to have much in the way of a story. but here I find it really compelling. The way the songs and their narratives and the different gods you have join you and narrate the stories feels so akin to oral storytelling traditions, and the world and mythology that the story hints at are far deeper than they seem on the surface.
This game is a celebration of rhythm games I heard it marketed as a "rogue like rhythm game" but I don't think it does the game justice, more accurate would be to say that its a game of lovingly handcrafted levels with different difficulty levels depending on your pre game settings as well as chosen difficulty level It's a rhythm game on rails (skiis) where you do actions to the beat to avoid obstacles, if you strip down all the graphics and effects its pretty much a DDR with a few more buttons and much more possible combinations You can change tracks, lean side to side, jump, crouch, and attack. At first you will do one at a time, but with time, expertly crafted guiding and level design you will see yourself stringing together wildest combinations possible of the above At pax west I met the development team, the designer showed me "most difficult level" which looked like an incomprehensible ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of inputs. Happy to report that I'm starting to decipher these eldritch incantations and Im having a blast
LOVE THIS GAME! What a refreshing rhythm game take. I love that I get to play a beatsaber-like game without having to deal with my VR nausea. I love how smooth the whole general experience is with the fitting music and I like it how still novel/different it is from my other rhythm games. Definitely going to be playing this for a while to play through the story. It's also definitely going into my rotation whenever I'm in the mood to trance out and get in a rhythm game flow.
Fresh Tracks is the type of rhythm game I'm always looking for - great music, an engaging story, fun characters, and engaging gameplay that keeps me coming back.
Estou viciado nesse game!
My new favorite rhythm game. I can see myself continuing to regularly pour hours and hours into this game, not just to beat high scores and see if I can do some challenge runs, but to just listen to the damn soundtrack. Wide variety of songs, that while the track list is limited, I personally never got sick of hearing any of them. Gameplay is amazing, tons of different ways to make the game as easy or as hard as you like, and the challenge of grabbing every whysper and landing on beats while dodging obstacles never gets old. I can't put it down, would absolutely recommend to anyone looking for a great rhythm game to knock some hours out to.
This game came out recently and made a big impression on me and ever since, I think it's become one of my favorite games. From the minute a song began playing during the tutorial to the introduction of the second god and every snippet of story afterwards this game has captured my imagination. It also came at an unexpectedly good time. Maybe a week or two after picking it up, I had some extraordinarily bad luck. It turned out that Koda's story-songs were comforting and inspiring, exactly as she'd want them to be. After that I had several weeks of stress and the game continued to be a comfort and a source of strength. It really is a fusion of a roguelike and rhythm game and I really enjoy trying to master each track. The music is all incredible. I love the characters and the world. I haven't finished the game yet (I've beaten the second boss, can't beat the third boss yet) but I'm really looking forward to learning more about the story and lore.
THIS GAME IS AMAZING! It's so unique and "fresh" to play every time I pick it up. I was happy to have received the game at a small discount at launch, but even if I didn't, it's well worth the full price. There is serious production in this game and I look forward to seeing how/if they develop the game further. This studio knows what they're doing, if you're thinking about picking it up, stop thinking, and PLAY THIS AMAZING GAME!
I loved almost every second of playing this game. There's a good variety of music and a good range of difficulty too. The game has some stunning visuals and you can tell that on an artistic level the devs put their heart into this game. There are some unfortunate bugs here and there mind you. Certain song segments seemingly lag a little, but always at the exact same points in the same songs. Most tracks don't seem to have this issue. There's a couple of other minor bugs like with the boss skip path always saying Skuld Kyng instead of the actual song but they're pretty minor / easy to overlook. These are the sorts of issues that shouldn't be too tricky to resolve. Edit :- They fixed the issues I mentioned above now. Overall, if you're looking to scratch the rhythm game itch, this game will easily do so.
So much fun, music is AMAZING, visuals are pretty and cool, story is neat. 100/10 recommend, feels very smooth and chill to play👌
