Freddy Farmer is a charming single screen arcade game until you venture beyond world one, then it gets pretty challenging and that's on Normal the easiest of the three difficulties. You do get infinite continues which you'll need to learn the layouts of new levels and to understand how to deal with new enemies. There are five worlds each with seven levels and a boss level. You start on Normal difficulty, with two levels per world locked and no boss level but you can unlock two more difficulties, Hard and Mirror. Hard doesn't actually seem any harder except for the additional levels per world and the boss level. The cute opening logos take too long but will be skippable in a future update. Restarting takes quite long and the CRT filter doesn't look good on my screen. However if you like a challenging arcade platformer this is a good one, a ton of well designed levels and mini-games to unlock. Apparently you can get into the registry and give yourself more lives. That nukes the leaderboard so I hope that exploit will be fixed, but might be for some a way to clear the game. However, the game does note the areas where the ingredients were solved in the correct order. The persistent three minute timer for each level adds another layer of difficulty which may prove frustrating for some, while the lack of a window mode might be a deal breaker for others. There's also a long developer/publisher logo that cannot be skipped when starting the game. A game with a lot of retro arcade flavor that fulfills its purpose: to leave you hooked to the controller until you beat a new level, and the next time you play, to do it perfectly and as quickly as possible. Everything is up to par: graphics, sound and gameplay. I'm going to keep playing, see you later!

Freddy Farmer reminds me a lot of classic 80s games. For example, it has a strong essence of Mario Bros (the one before Super Mario Bros). The pixel art is well crafted, and the chiptune soundtrack is really catchy.

Freddy Farmer hooked me from the start. What I love the most is that you can choose the level order, just like in Mega Man, giving you a lot of freedom. It feels like the first games I played as a kid, but better—updated for today while keeping that classic charm. My favorite level is definitely the cemetery! Muy divertido. Es difícil pero de mecánicas sencillas. Hay que practicar un poco para pillarle el truco, pero al ser técnico, pronto empieza a gustar pasarse las pantallas.
