definitely a goofy game that with some fun platforming and a funny reference to warioworld it feels like (' - .)
i'm frebbing my venture
What if the real Frebbventure was the friends we made along the way
Got this game on a whim when i randomly discovered it on steam. It kind of reminded me of old dos/amiga/Sega games i played as a kid. The game packs an incredible amount of gameplay into it, with levels that play like games from different genres, four playable characters that play entirely different from one another, and equipment that changes the playstyle or even move set of the characters giving even more variations on game play. Even if its a bit janky at times and the story can seem like nonsense and the music and sounds can be kind of annoying i can tell this game was made whit passion
indie gem
this was certainly... a frebbventure.
this game has lots and lots and lots of soul and authenticity to it, and even though it's a bit janky at times such as some grammar errors and bugs here and there, it makes up for it by being genuinely really fun once you get used to it on top of having an interesting world
Frebbventure is a neat little indie game that reminds me somewhat of the Wario Land series. You play as perpetually grumpy cat-like-thing named Frebb, who goes on the titular adventure to shut up his endlessly partying neighbours. The game is a blast to play through, if a little janky at parts, but given just how great the rest of the game is, plus the fact that this is a solo dev, that can be forgiven. The graphics are gorgeous, with GBA style spritework and some seriously great cut-in/cutscene artwork to accompany it, something evident if you take a look at the dev's other artwork. Sound design can be a little rough, but it has a nice charm to it, very reminiscent of the period of games it takes inspiration from. There's a surprising amount of story packed into it too, as silly as the game looks from the outset, and it plays it entirely straight the way through. I'd heartily recommend this to anyone coming off of Pizza Tower and looking for another fun Wariolike to play.
