Fractal Chicken is a very poorly made esoteric kind of "minecraft" ripoff with a fractal theme, but incomplete and incoherent with very poorly designed objectives, gameplay, graphics, well, everything, really. The game was abandoned roughly immediately after launch and hasn't been updated in several years. It blew past the developers commitment to complete the game without any notification or admission of failure from the developer. There's no reliable indication the game will ever be completed, which is a reason for gamers to avoid this. From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. There's no options to change the resolution for the game or customise the graphics settings. There's no way for gamers to ensure this is running at the native resolution of their displays... there's no guarantee this game will look right on any PC as a result of this hamfisted design decision. There's no way for gamers to try improve the low quality graphics. The game features lazy low-polygon voxel "Minecraft"-like "art", making this look like a barely functional 3D game from the 1990s. A lot of amateur developers see Minecraft's success and assume it's because it looks bad, not because it had unique and appealing game mechanics, and they try to emulate the success without understanding it. It also happens to be easy, and doesn't need any proper talent in terms of game development/graphic artists etc. That's why reviewers are faced with so many of these terrible games with confrontingly bad graphics. Developers must learn that Minecraft succeeded despite the bad graphics, not because of them. The controls can't be customised, which will be an annoyance for many, but it can also render the game unplayable for differently-abled gamers. These technical defects push this game below acceptable standards for any modern PC game. The poor quality of this game is reflected in the general public reception. At the time of this review, SteamDB shows the all-time peak player number was only 2 players. That's right, only 2. This is a remarkably low number, and now, the only player activity occurs once or twice a month, presumably someone loading it up to see what it is then quickly uninstalling it. Considering there's over 120 million gamers on Steam and well over 50,000 games for gamers to choose from, the overwhelming lack of interest in the game is to be expected. Gamers just didn't take this low quality game seriously, and for good reason. The game is completely free. This is noble a gesture that shows dedication to both gamers, and the gaming industry. Nothing speaks more to a developers belief in themselves and their product than making their game available for everyone without remuneration. It's a shame in this case that the implementation is below the minimum standards a dedicated PC game should offer to enthusiasts. The quality here is simply too low for me to recommend, even for free.

Its free, its kind of hard to beat that price point The game is fun, and unusual compared to what you'd normally expect but is also a little difficult because of that too. It has a big guide for you to read to start out with, but some things are still unintuitive. If you want to play it, go for it but you'll be on your own as i doubt you'll find any information on the game. The game ends up crashing when you get to the end game, save is either corrupted or crashes when loading, though im not sure why.
there is no deletion of the world, this eventually becomes a problem for the PC.
Fractal Chicken is kind of like Minecraft but also not, it's like something though, in fact it's 100% like Fractal Chicken, what is a fractal chicken though? Dig, harvest, build, enjoy https://youtu.be/yO7VXJk36o8
I think this game is far from great so far but theres a lot of potential in it and I know he's dedicated and putting a lot of thought and time and care into it. There is some interesting things here if you are willing to accept early access for what it is. Good luck!
I really like where this game is going. It is a little esoteric but it feels like I am playing Minecraft Beta in a dream. The level design has a bit of a learning curve to understand, but it is really fun to survive against the nightmare fuel creatures that inhabit the world, plus the enemy design is unique and the combat is satisfying. Something just feels right about it. In spite of the need for ideas to be a little more fleshed out, I think the creator of this game has a lot of potential to create something fantastic here. I am quite confused, but as of an hour in, I want to keep unfolding this world and learning its surreal secrets. I hope there are more updates and things get more fleshed out over time within the game world. Definitely try this one. It feels like a masterpiece in progress, but it is really quite fun. quick tip, find portals.
