"Fox! Hen! Bag!" is a short and pointless tech demo, it's basically the old riddle where you have to get three entities across a river (chasm, whatever), but the entities all have it in for each other... a fox, a hen, and a bag of feed. You can only take one animal across at any time. If you leave the wrong two entities alone together, then you fail... eg, the fox left alone with the hen will eat the hen. The solution is to take the hen across, then the fox, then go back WITH the hen, take the feed across, then go back one last time and take the hen over. Why that needed to be represented as a video game is unclear, so this is totally valueless in terms of being a PC gaming experience. It's more Steam Direct pollution. The game is quite short, and can be run through in just a couple of minutes. The lack of content here makes it hard to suggest it's worth spending the time to add to your library and download. This feels more like a tech demo or a project smacked together hurriedly to try make a kind of minimum viable product just good enough to pass the developers unambitious idea and shove it into Steam Direct to see if you can actually pay and publish junk through Steam Direct. Yeah, you can. Is this good for gamers? Nope. On the important subject of visuals, this features fairly low quality stylised/cartoony low poly 3D graphics. It comes across as the kind of thing you see on mobile phones and Nintendo games, which will deter a lot of PC gamers, understandably. Gaming is a visual medium, and to be considered one of the best games on Steam, the graphics have to be some of the best on Steam. That's not happening here. You're forced to sign a highly questionable yet legally unenforceable End User License Agreement... for such a relatively low effort, low quality product, this comes across more as a delusion of grandeur than anything else. This agreement includes questionable requirements that may attempt to revoke consumer law protections that gamers expect to have, which is also highly problematic. Developers must learn they are here to serve gamers, not control them. I had my cat walk over the keyboard while the EULA was displaying, which fixed that problem for me. This game is fairly dated at 5 years old... and even back then it looked old and busted compared to contemporary, professionally made 3D games of the same period. It looked bad then, it looks worse now. Now on to pricing and value for gamers. This is "free" enough (not every "free" game in the "free" section is truly free, there's usually some hidden price tag), at least you won't be expected to spend any more money after you download this, but just because something is free doesn't mean it's good, and the cost of a game is more than just financial, your time is valuable too. In terms of public reception, this failed. There's over 130 million unique gamers visiting Steam every month. SteamDB showed the game peaked at only 6 concurrent players... this is a dismal public reception. This was so bad they couldn't even give it away. Bearing in mind that free games don't add +1 to your game collector count, should you bother adding this to your library and downloading it? I think you should give this one a miss. Although it's free, your time and storage are valuable resources, and the market is filled with superior options.
Hen! Bag!"
Cute little and very short game on the Fox, Hen and Bag riddle. I love the silly dancing fox, it looks adorable :) Worth the 5 minutes of playtime.
Fun game, treat it as a small interactive story you can put 10 minutes in. Be sure to talk to the characters after every step of the puzzle to see all the dialogue. It's free, install it and have a fun 10 minutes The dancing fox is so cute!
Not very challenging but fun, takes 5-10 minutes to 100%
