[h1]Avoid at all Costs[/h1]
I went into this expecting a bad game based solely on the main store page graphic. I did not set my expectations low enough.
[b][u]Basics[/u][/b]:
This is a top-down racing game with so many problems, you would've though you were on a bootleg flash games website. All of the cars are shrunken images of cars, so they look terrible, however that's how most of the images in this game look like. Every image used looks like it was either edited or drawn in MS Paint. You can watch the main video on this store page if you want to see for yourself. This game has 3 difficulties. Happy face, meh face, and sad face. I have no idea what this means or how it impacts the game, but even on happy face it was near impossible to beat the AI.
[b][u]Controls[/u][/b]:
I didn't use a controller, so this part is for keyboard only.
In a barebones racing game, you just have to worry about gas, brake, steering, and possibly abilities. This game fails on almost every possible control that a racing game should have. These controls are so bad. The left and right arrow keys only turn the vehicle frame by frame and there's only 12 possible directions, so controlling the vehicle is extremely stiff. This wouldn't be too big of a problem if your car didn't accelerate about 150% of the speed if not more whenever you're going in a non-straight direction. Making slight adjustments is not an option. If you try, then you'll just accelerate into a wall because you can't control your speed and direction.
[b][u]The AI[/u][/b]:
The AI makes perfect turns and never crashes. The only time the AI is slowed is when it is hit by another AI's ability. If you crash more than a few times, or sometimes even once, then you've already lost the chance of getting 1st. The difficult AI and the terrible controls make it near impossible to experience the game since it's all locked behind winning races.
[b][u]Progression[/u][/b]:
This game has 3 modes: Arcade, Freeplay, and Pro. Arcade mode is just 16 tracks where you have to place in order to move onto the next race. You have to place in each track before it is unlocked in Freeplay. I don't know why there's even a Freeplay option if I can't play any of the maps yet.
[b][u]In Conclusion[/u][/b]:
I enjoy a lot of bad games because there's a certain charm to them. This was not enjoyable in the slightest because it looks like it was thrown together in a 24-hour game dev challenge by somebody who didn't really know what they were doing and with no care or effort put into the project. The fact that this even has a dollar amount assigned to it blows my mind. There is so much that is wrong with this game and I have no idea where you would begin to fix it.
This is a terrible game and I suggest that you do not waste your time or money on this. Please do not support this with any dollar amount, even if you can pick up a Steam key for less than 10 cents. I did this and I still feel shortchanged. I'd rather buy a thrown together GameGuru game and give myself motion sickness by staring at the max framerate of 15.
