Forgotten Hill Tales

I'm really torn on whether to actually recommend this game or not. It's a B- at best. This game is made in Unity, which means it overheats my computer. I don't think any point-and-click should ever be made with Unity. Opening and closing the game is sluggish, and I didn't enjoy the fact that I had to slowly turn the book pages every time I wanted to get to a later level. [b]Little Cabin in the Woods[/b] It was going really well until I got to the end when I became severely stuck and there were zero in-game hints about anything. Clicking the "?" was getting me nowhere, so I eventually caved and went looking for the walkthrough. Turns out there was an area on the screen that I was supposed to click that is incredibly difficult to spot because it blends right in with everything else ([spoiler]seriously, that gap in the wood looked exactly the same as all the other gaps, like there was nothing about it that drew my eye to that area[/spoiler]). Very rage-inducing end to an otherwise alright experience. [b]Portrait of an Obsession[/b] I think it’s pretty good for what you get, but I swear there had to be at least two instances of me clicking around and nothing happening, which incorrectly told me there’s nothing there or that the object doesn’t work there. But then these areas were clickable only after the puzzle is ready to complete, meaning I was very stumped for sections of the game in places I definitely wouldn’t have been otherwise. [b]GrandMa's Delicious Cakes[/b] On the short side, but hit the spot with puzzles. Only downside was that the game froze on several occasions. [b]Rise of Pico[/b] Somehow even shorter than the GrandMa one, but it managed to be very good on the puzzles. I will, however, complain that the background music for this one was so unbearable that I had to turn it off. [b]The Left Behind[/b] I liked most of it, but some of the puzzles were infuriating. I really disliked the physics one that required getting the balls through the hole, and I absolutely hated the one where you had to recreate the painting by rotating the tiles. On the latter, I had to take a step back before I rage quit, and when I returned to it, the game glitched out and decided I solved the puzzle after a few futile rotations. Overall, the feeling I'm left with is that of a chocolate chip and ♥♥♥♥ cookie. Very difficult to separate the two. But because I can only choose between a thumbs up or down, I'm going to be lenient with the thumbs up since I did technically manage to get through the game without needing the hints... technically.
