Excellent blend of exploration of the various locations and creativity for building your airship base. The story is intriguing and the monsters a little spooky.
Many of these style games get compared to the fan favorite, Subnautica, and for good reason. Subnautica provided an amazing experience with beautiful visuals as we explored the depths of the ocean. Forever Skies is a worthy addition to this genre, though not without some minor critiques. Due to environmental collapse, humanity was forced to build higher and higher to avoid the ever increasing toxic smog that covers the Earth. Reaching their limit, the remainder of humanity vacated the planet, residing now in a space station called "The Ark". They were safe from the gray plague, until they weren't. Now, with the plague, a virus born from the toxic smog, running rampant in "The Ark", you are sent down to Earth alone to find a cure. That is the premise and it is where I will stop. The gameplay on "normal"(the only mode I played) is chill and the game is first and foremost about exploration and narrative. The biomes and environments are well done rewarding the player with interesting and beautiful landscapes as you fly your base around from location to location obtaining materials to survive and clues to finding the cure. Crafting and base construction is VERY similar to Subnautica. You scan real world items to get blueprints which you then craft at various workstations in your base. The devs made building and placing items (except for sprinklers!) intuitive, easy, and forgiving. Building was never an issue and never caused aggravation (except for sprinklers!). I give them a 9/10 for their building and crafting mechanics. What sets Forever Skies apart is that your base is mobile! So, unlike Subnautica where you have to essentially build a temp base in each new biome, in Forever Skies, you take your base with you. You have to augment your airship with turbines and engines and increase the size of the main balloon in order to reach different areas of the game. However, most of this mechanic is cosmetic, but height is necessary to reach some locations. The game has three MAIN biomes with each location being procedurally generated so you never visit the same place twice, per se. However, the scannable equipment you need is also part of that generation, and though I did not have much of a problem finding them, others have reported having to visit at least a few of same locations before the game generated the equipment. One tweak I wish the developers had pursued lay with the exploration itself. Forever Skies, for being set in the atmosphere, is pretty flat. You fly around, up and down, but you never really descend in your airship below the breathable atmosphere. Instead, you fly to locations and then journey, on foot, to small representation of what they call "The Underdust" - which are beautiful, exotic locations filled with all manner of flora and fauna. What I wish the developers did instead was have the player find technology to improve their airships oxygen recycling and toxic resistance and have you delve, in your airship, deeper and deeper into the Underdust itself, making the progression a descent into the unknown, rather than covering only the surface and riding elevators down. The premise set up massively tall skyscrapers that would allow for the ability to have different biomes layered on top of each other for a more striation style experience. They could then add a few more dangers that would cause you to upgrade your ship or personal equipment in order to survive the toxic dust and larger fauna before you go deeper. It's a minor thing, but one I believe the devs should think about in any sequels, which appears to be inevitable. Overall, the game is a great buy, especially on sale, and the devs put in a great amount of work and care to give players a truly exploratory and narrative experience! I give it a solid 7/10 for the genre with high hopes the devs can improve on the sequel.

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Aug 28: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,419 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

I just came back to play this again after a year. Still have not fixed the outrageous lag issue or added more for a better story line. Many places you explore are virtually empty of loot. I would recommend this game if they had ever fixed the lag issue but at this point i can't. There is no setting in the game or Nvidia or windows that you can change to fix it. It's been a chief complaint for a long time now. Get it together devs.
el típico survival, coleccionando cosas, ampliando tu casa y amontonando misiones. Bastante armonioso, fácil de seguir y de jugar. Se entiende lo que hay que hacer, y como todo fan siempre buscas más.
Forever Skies made me realize that sometimes the best survival games aren't about fighting monsters. They're about wondering what's over the horizon. The first time I upgraded my airship and watched the ruined Earth disappear beneath the clouds, I knew this game was going to be something special. Instead of giving you a giant map to explore on foot, Forever Skies turns your airship into your home, your workshop, your transportation, and your lifeline. Every upgrade matters because you're not just improving a vehicle—you're expanding your ability to survive. Exploration is where the game shines. Drifting between skyscraper ruins that tower above the toxic clouds creates a unique sense of scale and loneliness. Every structure might contain the resources, technology, or discoveries needed for your next breakthrough. The survival mechanics strike a nice balance between challenge and accessibility. You'll need to manage resources, improve your equipment, and carefully plan your journeys, but the game rarely feels interested in wasting your time. Progress feels steady and rewarding. What surprised me most was the atmosphere. The world feels abandoned, mysterious, and strangely beautiful. There were plenty of moments where I found myself standing on my airship just looking out across the horizon before continuing my journey. It's not perfect. Some systems can feel repetitive over longer sessions, and players looking for constant combat may find the pace too relaxed. But if you enjoy exploration, base building, crafting, and uncovering the secrets of a fallen world, Forever Skies is easy to recommend. **Pros:** * Unique airship-based gameplay * Beautiful environmental design * Relaxing but rewarding exploration * Strong atmosphere * Satisfying progression and upgrades **Cons:** * Slower pace than many survival games * Some resource gathering repetition * You'll spend an unreasonable amount of time upgrading your airship **Overall: 9/10** Most survival games make you build a base. Forever Skies lets you take your base with you. And honestly, that's a brilliant idea.

The game has its minor peeves, and i understand why many see it as repetitive. But in the end, the game has more enjoyable sides that make you want to play it. From the slow formation of a massive, flying base, to better technology that makes the farming less painful and the exploration of the bigger bases. So while i see others issue, I think if you enjoy base building and exploration games, you'll enjoy this game. Plus, the developers have been doing their best to alleviate the issues many have and add a ton of extra free content. If there is one major complaint id have, it's that the lightning can feel a bit excessive at times. Even while inside the airship, it flashes loudly and shakes your entire screen as if it hit right next to you. Wish that was at least a setting to adjust, as it feels a bit much.

Worth to buy on a sale. Not too long, gets kinda grindy. But all in all good
