The visual style and sound design of this game are both wonderful, and the solitaire gameplay is honestly really fun. It captures a lot of the heart of 90's 3D computer animation while bringing some of the weird art direction of Night Signal. That being said, the gameplay is pretty much just a solitaire card game, with unique mechanics. And those mechanics are a lot of fun! I expected that going in, and had a really phenomenal time playing it. I do however echo some of the other reviews wishing that there was a deeper layer of interaction with the virtual desktop the game takes place in, and I think a couple details of the story could have been expanded upon a bit, but as a really unique solitaire horror experience with a visual style that always left me wanting to continue to see what monstrosities came next, I really recommend playing it!

It was made by the guys who did Home Safety Hotline so I was really excited. I left a little disappointed though. Fun game but it keeps telling me to stop playing. Lots of really weird visual glitches. I think this was made for a version of Windows that Proton isn't compatible with because there was lots of weird visual glitching. I think they were trying to do some sorta ARG-style stuff but the garbled text is pulling me out of it. Seriously though, I've never seen compatibility issues result in being told to quit playing. It's the weirdest thing. Anyway after weird ♥♥♥♥ started happening in the audio I decided to take the game's advice. I think there's something weird going on with the audio pitch towards the end of the game. You guys might wanna get that checked out.
Absolutely fantastic lil package here. As always with Night Signal Games, the retro vibes are nailed PERFECTLY from presentation to sound design to even slight jankiness. Don't let that deceive you, however, this game is anything but shallow or half baked; the gameplay is highly satisfying and engaging, even if you're not a fan of Solitaire (like myself). It gets addicting, finding the right combination of cards to string together high-scoring combos and dishing out large amounts of damage. The consistent progression of power as you continue through the game with new gems (power ups), joker card types, and slots ensures that you won't get bored or feel like the experience gets too repetitive. All in all, the gameplay is balanced in such a way that you're guaranteed to be engaged and challenged the whole way through. With all this praise, I haven't even touched on this game's narrative: a cherry on top to an already fun retro cake. As you play, you'll continue to learn more about the history of this game's conception and controversy, crafted masterfully on top of the gameplay without causing any major interruptions or disruptions, The cinematography and direction in the tapes that you get to watch also feels like it came straight out of the 90s, encapsulating the full package in a neat, stylish, and engaging experience.
