FOMOGRAPHY

Seems like a nice game so far (about 2 hours in, playing just a little at a time). A down-to-earth game, with a touch of mystery and reality that helps (me) rekindle a desire to take photos and explore the world through (young?) eyes. The music is pleasant, the character 3D art has a unique cute style, and the world seems interesting enough... (Oh and there's a day/night cycle, characters and locations open up or change depending on the time. Gotta get those sunrise/sunset shots!) I wonder if there's a deadline or if you can just sit on a bench for a weeks or months lol. The game has a respectable level of polish. The writing seems mostly fine, though could use a voice over to really bump things up a notch; the good music helps fill the gap. Gameplay consists of wandering around: either following directions or just stumbling into new events and characters, camera ready... Speaking of characters, they always switch to the same pose each time you whip out a camera for that moment, and dialogue tends to repeat after you've talked twice. A bit of variation would have been nice with the poses to add extra life... And there are parts of the game that expect you to react a certain way, before you realize what is expected. (Like at the start, when you first take pictures: I spent my time playing around, getting interesting shots... but it went on and on.... seemingly in a loop... finally I realized I better just start taking the picture where it places you, over and over. (Might be better if there were a few more poses and/or a time limit before skipping to the final picture. To catch you off guard, rather than question if something is broken, if you take your sweet time taking pictures. xD) Oh and it would be real nice if you could show your photographs to the various major characters to get reactions with a game based around taking photos... Alas. Like what do you think of this person, or this spot, or this location, etc. Things are a bit more fixed than that... I believe the overarching mission will be to uncover what has been forgotten and piece together the world; but so far there seems to be a freedom to just look around and find events/characters rather than following a strict linear progression. Dialogue choice is minimal if at all (some simply loop back until you choose the other choice unfortunately lol)... Oh, and difficulty settings are a bit hidden in the menus. Set to medium as default. (One is reaction time and the other might be for puzzles? If I recall correctly. It seems quite easy so far. Might be better to try cranking it up?) But after saying all that, it seems to be a very nice, relaxed, somewhat ordinary world based around photography and what you can do with it. And exploration, characters, and piece by piece, uncovering the missing memories... and seeing what a traditional camera can do for everyone. It's artistically done, and so far satisfying. Suitable for any age. I believe it's an indie worth its salt, though the price and lack of reviews is highly detrimental... Which is why I figured I'd better write something! Personally would like to see a 9.99 - 13.99 price range, and more REVIEWS! xD Anyway, if you feel like you haven't taken pictures in a long time, or find yourself without the desire to take them... this might give you some much needed creative fuel. And you can get a good sense for the game within 2 hours. A recommend at this point in time. (Even moreso if the price goes down/we start seeing sales!)

You help characters by taking pictures of different things. This while you also solve some mysteries that has puzzles. It is a nice game for those that like exploration, mysteries, solve puzzles, taking pictures and a story that develops the further you get with helping the different characters. I enjoyed it and it was fun solving the mysteries and puzzles and see how the story developed. Had a good time with it.

I had a lovely experience playing through this chill yet deep game. I played through almost entirely with my SO watching and collaborating with puzzles and it was a great time. The album collection mechanic really scratched my collectathon itch and I adored the personalization flair given the way pictures you take end up impacting the world and UI in various fun ways (There were loads fun moments where something in world would reference a silly picture I'd taken previously and we'd both chuckle). I was also not expecting the deeper mysteries you uncover here and found myself caught up trying to put the dots together. It ends up getting quite heartfelt and a little heavy even so we were hooked through to the end. I highly recommend!
